Santo Domingo. - A Dominican wanted for allegedly shooting his wife to death was extradited to the United States last night, to face charges of “intentional and premeditated murder” in Hill Rock, South Carolina, the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) announced today.

DNCD agents arrested Carlos Luis Pinales Mejía, who also used the name of Francisco Tejeda Aquino to avoid capture in the murder of Amver Marie Schiavone, on January 30, 2008.

The Dominican government authorizer Pinales’ handover after the Supreme Court handed down the ruling 3138-2010, on November 15, accepting the U.S. request for extradition.

DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrón said the accused faces two counts of first degree murder in South Carolina’s York County Court.

The DNCD takes their marching orders from the criminal mafia running the U.S. injustice system. Not to make excuses for this guy. Just saying what the criminals in the north want, they get. The DNCD complies.

the_haitian,
I do not know the statistics, but "known facts" often turn out to be popular misconceptions or urban myths. Certainly the incarceration rate of black men is higher however that may be due to other factors, like the rate of offending, I don't know. It is an emotive issue and people make assumptions, and if enough people make the same assumption it becomes "fact". Also if they have less money to pay for legal defense, this may also be a factor.
Certainly in Australia, the statistics show gender is a major factor in sentencing. Women get much lighter sentences than men for the same crime.

@ Roy...Totally off-topic but is it true that in Austrailia there are more women than men there?

watcher48, as in every country, In Australia slightly more males are born than females. Also as in every country, women live longer. In Australia it balances out, so in the total population, the numbers are almost exactly equal. over the age of 65 the number of women outnumber men 1.00 to 0.84
The break-even point is at age 39

According to Wikipedia, in the Dominican Republic overall, males outnumber females 1.03 to 1.00
Over 65, females outnumber males 1:00 to 0.86 - slightly less that Australia.

Of course the above is all about quantity not quality. Take it from me, the Dominican Republic is vastly superior in that regard.
