Santo Domingo.- Police investigators seized 24 weapons of various calibers and a hand grenade from an alleged ring gun runners and drug traffickers operating out of the sector Ensanche Kennedy Thursday morning.

According to the Police, the ring operated in two houses on Ibarra St, in the National District.

It said four people have been arrested in connection to the case, one of them the retired Police colonel Armando Ventura.

Police spokesman Máximo Báez said the investigation continues and the detainees will be charged in the next few hours.

Gee how would a grenade enter the country ? Boat, plane or from within. Now how many more of these rings are operating in plain sight under the watchful eyes of a retired officer

simply put 1000 pesos in the waiting hand ,,,just like you put 100 pesos in the hands of the police on the highways who then do not bother to look at anything inside the car q I can verify and so can PCMike that you need 100 or 200 pesos always when driving from Higuey to santo Domingo

Ricardolito@ As a Dominican it hurts to admit this, but, the example you give is one of the reasons I choose to vacation in other islands in the Caribbean, instead of the DR. Until the issues of criminals in and out of uniform and unsafe roads are dealt with, many people like myself will stay away. Or just visit the all inclusives'.
