Man killed his wife, commits suicide over a Facebook photo

Santo Domingo.– One of the latest facebook-related violence occured this week in a Santo Domingo motel, where a young man murdered his wife and later committed suicide after seeing a picture of her with another man on the social network.

According to a police report, Valentin Nuñez Luciano, 26, shot and killed Marleni Suero Amador, 25, late Wednesday, with a 9mm Bersa pistol, the same gun he used to kill himself immediately after.

Friends and relatives describe Nuñez Luciano as a good young man, while reports indicate that he regularly abused Suero Amador.

Police spokesman Maximo Baez said that relatives told police Nuñez had seen Suero in a photo with a man she had recently visited in jail. The couple had been together for three years but broke up about a month ago because Nuñez had apparently abused her physically.
