The ruling in the National District 1st Court of Appeals aims to allow Madelin Bernard’s new attorney Freddy Mateo, to obtain all the documents to prepare her defense.

The appeals were filed by Mary Peláez, Sammy Dauhajre, Ricardo Ivanovich Smester and Juan Jose Fernandez, sentenced to 15 years prison, Eddy Brito, to 12 and Madeline Bernard, to 5 years at Najayo prison.

The other convict Sobeida Felix didn’t appeal her 5 year prison sentence, as agreed to on plea bargaining with the National District Prosecutor.

It is another time to show how powerful the money is in DR's Judicial system.

We pay you cash, you help me to get less sentence time.

They haven't been pardoned?

Must have run out of money.

And that appeal has little chances to be succesful, so they might as well keep their money for canteen than give it to lawyers.

Unless they find an appelate bench of interim judges.
