Santo Domingo.- President Leonel Fernandez on Tuesday noon hailed Dominican Republic’s relations with Venezuela, and praised president Hugo Chavez’s solidarity and cooperation with his country and other Latin American nations, via the Petrocaribe oil pact.

Fernandez said the Venezuelan leader’s solidarity and collaboration with Latin America links him to the history and social progress of the hemisphere’s peoples.

The chief executive spoke after a mass for Chávez’s health officiated in the National Palace chapel, with the presence of Venezuela ambassador Alfredo Murga, Vatican nuncio Jozef Wesolowski and all cabinet ministers.

DR is in Chavez welfare rolls, so let's not complain, about LF's patronizing him.

Light-blue ties are out and gray ties are in. However Chavez wears a red tie (when he's not wearing a track-suit) so all his puppets have red ties too. Isn't togetherness nice? Conversion to faith in Jesus is a wonderful thing. No Commies in fox-holes, I hear. The good cardinal must have been in the confessional-box instructing a choir-boy and missed the photo-opportunity.

I had a long and funny article that the DT program did not allow me to post, regarding a Dominican senator that tried to get into hell. Sorry, but I tried.
I will send it in a PM.

"please dont shave your heads though"
the truth of the matter is hes only on the front pages of the worlds newspapwer when the price of oil is high, when this is not the case most and i say most world leaders shy away from this crazy man.

the biggest debiter the dr has is venezuela,

few months ago he got on national t.v and as told the people of venezula they need to go out and buy generators why? because they have very little elec. blackouts galore {like the dr} hes got all the oil money, said hes going to build homes for the poor in the dr while many suffer in this own country.
yes lets all pray for hime,
but i think its more wise to pray for the people of venezuela

He needs to find another pseudo-saint like Mother Teressa to give millions of dollars "forgiveness" money to as Duvalier of Haiti did, in return for her endorsement. Who knows what happened to the money, but as sure as hell it didn't go to healing the sick.

Yuca,

I guess it has been a while.....A couple of months back, it was said that the bean for oil was a flop and chavez wanted cash and also the country couldn't produce the quota needed to satisfy the debt....Since the program start not one ton of bean has been payed and leonel let the debt accumulate and chavez was livid that so much was owed with no effort to pay back .

@ Roy,

I like the red tie look myself. I think they look very nice.

Come to think of it, I have a red tie that got washed with bleach that I would gladly donate to you Roy. I personaly think that you would look real nice in pink.

Thanks, elBuscoon,
Pink does suit me - goes with my sunburn ("mad dogs and Australians, go out in the mid-day sun" - Noel Coward) and red eyes.
But I've already got a striped pink tie - it goes with my pink shirt.
Real men wear pink, didn't you know? I guess you don't need to.

If Chavez the Commu-Nazi is such a good friend of the DR and Fernandez then why is Venezuelan gasoline sold by "Citgo" Gas Station cheaper in the U.S. than in D.R. When Santo Domingo is Short Cargo Ship ride away from Venezuela

Asskisser and Chief Leo... Hope he screws the Commie out of his money like he does the people of the country he presides over. Then I hope he nationalizes the Refinery and pays him $100 and tellls him to pound salt like Chevez did to the oil companies and other businesses in his country.

No separation of church and state here. Then they have the nerve to perpetrate the lies that its a a thriving/developing nation, a democracy because they allow you to drink rum and dance in the streets?

It's one big church/state incestuous relationship that presents itself as an elected secular government. Shame on those that sell those roman fascist dreams as progress and globalism.

Chavez enemies get bullets, while Chavez gets smoke, wafers and drama in Venezuela, Cuba, and even here in Santo Anonimo, republica ROMANA. .

"separation of church and state"
Not according to the 1954 Concordat between the Dominican Republic and the Vatican.
So far the only "acts of God" this country has experienced are hurricanes, droughts, landslides and earthquakes.
