Santo Domingo.- Nearly half of DT readers believe that the latest endorsements from various personalities for opposition PRD party presidential candidate Hipolito Mejia, , despite their questionable behavior, will help the former president’s bid to return to office.
When asked to “Rate the latest endorsements for candidate Mejia,” 43,854 readers chose the option “Good, could lead to a win, for 59.38% of the votes, while the response “They couldn't be worse,” drew 22,742 votes, or 30.79%.
The option “Who cares I like the other guy, drew 7,156 votes, for 9.69%, while “So so, hard to say on votes” was chosen by 98 readers, or 0.13% of those who took part in the weekly unscientific survey.
The Easer break extended the poll for more than two weeks, which could explain the high number of votes.

Nobody really knows what is going to happen on election day May 20TH, most can only guess and hope that their candidate wins.
If Hipoloco wins then disaster will strike sooner rather than later, if Danilo wins, then the day after he is sworn in, he will feel the "hangover" of trying to pay all the borrowed money and promises, and create all the jobs for the backers of his populism.
Either way the voters of the DR lose, as they will probably get more of the same song and dance, and gross corruption for another 4 years.

Whatever turns you on, but I thought it was a compliment, and I do hope to live to be 150 years old, but I have a long way to go yet, as I am not even close to retirement age.
It looks like the thought police is at it again, censoring the comments of the posters because of who makes them. The culprits like delinquent children, will realize after they are publicly chastised, their names revealed, and IP's banned, (coming soon) that free speech and discourse are universal rights, that should not be impaired.

Anyway having Margarita as vice-presidential running-mate in itself does not make Danelo a puppet. It may be a strategically good move to get the women's vote.

They rate D.R. corruption in 128..And by 2011 there were 242 countries in the world.In other words... We are in an average situation.Just plain normal

She may be popular, but in my opinion they have been conned. She has made some very high-profile, generous and expensive gifts to the poor from taxpayer funds, while much needed funding for general hospitals and schools goes lacking, for example,
1) Donating a new house to an un-wed, uneducated school-age pregnant girl, to celebrate the wold population reaching 7 billion. Hardly something to celebrate, or to reward.
2) The massively expensive operation in USA to separate the Boca Chica Siamese twins, whose prognosis is poor, while dozens of infants died due to lack of the same amount of funding to public hospitals.
