This theory is certainly the most widely accepted amongst anthropologists and paleontologists at the moment, but there is not universal consensus on this by any means. However unlike climatologists, these are true scientists so they always concede they could be wrong, and do not put down others with differing conclusions. It is a pity more people can't adopt such an attitude.

If the "Out of Africa" theory is indeed accurate (as I believe it is) then no one (even Dominicans) should be smug about how black they arn't. It is highly likely that the original Homo sapiens sapiens were black (except those made from breathing life into dirt, or carved from a rib, like the good cardinal).

I was drawing a comparison between the achievements of Australians and Dominicans to make a point. Whatever precipitation does or doesn't fall on Antarctica is not more relevant than that not falling on the moon. By "continent" I was referring to North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia, which most normal people would understand a accept. All of those continents (except Europe) have deserts, rain-forests, grasslands, etc. However Australia has the greatest proportion of its landmass as desert. That is why the interior is almost uninhabited. Whether the Sahara Desert is dryer, bigger or more famous than the Simson, Strzelecki,Tirari, Pedirka, Tanami, Sturt Stony, Gibson Sandy or Great Victorian Desert is irrelevant, so my point still stands - Australia is the driest continent.

The Purple Fanatics fail to understand that the fact that Hippo is a contender is not a reason to be MAD at the public, but rather to realize that the PLD after 12 years of controlling the government BLEW it. They have a very hard time accepting that FACT!

The PLD fundamentally ignored the people’s needs for EDUCATION, health, affordable housing, jobs and public safety. They thought that their get rich quick mega infrastructure projects would be enough and they were grossly mistaken.

The public has gotten tired of being fed through their eyes the “wonderful progress” the Marco-economic miracle has produced via expensive media campaigns. The public does not directly feel that progress and in fact has lost ground economically, which is the reality not only in DR but is the reality for the lower and middle classes the world over.

The reality that the Dominican people see is that the higher echelons of the PLD have done marvelously well for themselves, particularly the elite of the party concentrated in the Political Committee led by his Royal Highness Lie-onel and her Majesty Margarita “The Mad Hatter!”

When you add that to the normal tendency of the public getting tired of administrations after they have been on the stage too long even when they have done a good job, which the PLD clearly has not done, their 15 minutes of fame has expired.

Even Winston Churchill was thrown out of office after winning the Second World War!

So it’s not that Hippo is so good or that the public is stupid (which an elitist superiorly attitude to have) but rather that the PLD has been soooo bad and time has finally caught up to them!

The middle of San Cristobal was blocked by a Hippo motorcade. There were masses of people in a carnival atmosphere. I was wondering how many were aware of Hippo's recent huge gaff. I suspect many don't know or care who Obama is anyway. He doesn't provide free beer or a full tank of petrol. The mayor Raul Mondesí is a PLD man, so I can imagine this working for the PRD, since Mondesí has done absolutely nothing for this town.

Roy the people are not supporting Hippo as much as they are DISGUSTED with the PLD and the Corruption that has been Personified in Felix Bautista.

Mondesi is with the PLD, he went on Politics on the PRSC, then he jumped to PLD then he got elected as mayor with the PRD and he Jumped back to PLD...Nice, isn't it?
