SANTO DOMINGO.-Pedro Julio Goigo (Pepe) was questioned for more than one hour and then released. Yenny Berenice Reynoso didn’t set a new date for further interrogation.
FILE.- Retired colonel Julio "Pepe" Goico arrived at the Office of the National District Prosecutor for questioning into the alleged plot to destabilize the presidency of Haiti’s Michel Martelly.
Goico arrived at 3:55pm accompanied by the lawyers Ramon Pina, Rafael Suárez, Julio Cury, Manuel Sierra and Teolbaldo Durán, and at once entered the Office of the Prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso, who had subpoenaed him for interrogation.
Reynoso said she recently received the file including a court-authorized taped phone conversation in which Goico allegedly instructs Haitian businessman Pierre Kanzki to take steps to destabilize Martelly’s government.
Goico declined comment on the case

I heard the alleged recording of the conversation and it seemed to be no more than typical Dominican hyperbolic macho political rhetoric. Mr. Goico appears to sound like he is on the sauce and the Haitian gentlemen appears to sound polite but confused, sort of going along with friend’s possibly alcohol induced rhetoric.
The broader issue is what right the government has to intercept the private telephone communications of private citizens, even if they have a so-called court order from one of Lie-onel's prefabricated Kangaroo Courts?
