Santo Domingo. - Constitutionalist Military Foundation president Andres Fortunato on Tuesday said the 1965 Revolution was worth the fight because no other coup has occurred after that historic deed in the Dominican Republic.
Marking the Revolution’s 47th anniversary by laying a wreath in the National Altar, the former freedom fighter said that the events 1965 proved the need to respect the population’s will of the.
He regrets however that the popular will didn’t reach power in 1965 as the Constitutionalists fought for, because the U.S. military occupation which began in April 28 suspended the Constitution and dashed the possibility of Juan Bosch’s return to office.
Fortunato also went to the National Palace where president Leonel Fernandez headed a reception for dozens of constitutionalists and senior Government officials.

I think that DT has decided to Honor the Martyrs and Heroes of the Revolution of April 1965 by eliminating the Censorship feature at DT.

Perhaps the real reason there hasn't been other coups is because there were left no Dominicans of conscience and honor since Juan Bosch.
We must accept that the brain drain caused by Trujillo and the puppet planted by the US after Bosch (Balaguer) removed most Dominicans of conscience, honor and wisdom, leaving instead the current ilk of short-sighted, self-centered, greedy scum selling anything of DR tha can be commoditized and tranferred to US and Euro interests.
Since Bosch, we've only had "malos dominicanos, sin juicio y sin corazón, atentando constantemente contra la salud de la Patria," willing to sell DR resources and even its most vulnerable in society to the highest bidder with the most despicable characters.
All they've done is keep the funnel that removes real wealth from our land and move it US and Europe. In exchange for what? Paper currencies in Swiss banks. Paper currencies now imploding around the globe. Paredones come and go, they'll be in fad again.

The other reason is that the US has their evil hand grasped around our country and not allowing anyone from the far left attempt to win votes or perhaps win the heart of the poor. The greedy scums in the PLD, PRD and PRSC only care about enriching themselves and increase the marginazion of the poor. They scare that hell out Bosch and the constitutionalistas that if there was ever another uprising against any puppet government placed by the US they will pay the price. Now there we have it, nobody with real COJONES to face the imperialist Gorillas in power!!
