Santo Domingo.- “I can’t believe that God has taken such affectionate and noble people who were loved by everyone here,” said one of the mourners among the friends and neighbors who gathered Sunday for the impromptu wake of the spouses Jacobo Núñez and Ana Julia Martinez, in the community La Jagua of the town Manuel Bueno, of El Pino, Dajabón province.
News source elcaribe.com.do reports that it was the couple’s third visit to the United States, where they died Sunday afternoon together with five other family members in an auto accident in the Bronx, New York.
Dozens of people went to offer condolences and prayers to the modest home at La Jagua, as if a wake but without the bodies of the couple, killed near the Bronx Zoo, together with Maria Josefina Núñez, 40, Maria Codina (Nely), 36, and Yaslin González, Naily Rosario, 9, and Mailyn Rosary, 3.

Roystone- The suv flew off an overpass and landed on its roof, after falling 60ft. I don't think use or not use of seat belts were an issue in this accident. She was doing 69mph in 50mph zone. Most likely distracted driving was the main culprit in this accident.

Dominicans never actually learn how to drive because for a few pesos you can buy a license.
What a false statement! In all states you must pass a driving exam...
From: United States, Washington, DC
There were a couple of problems related to this tragedy. NYC roads... especially in bad areas, the bronx, are just as bad as dr roads... just like synapse wrote... dominicans from the dr can't drive, don't have training to drive, and think everyone else are the problem on the road...
The driver, Maria Gonzalez, clipped a highway divider and damaged a tire Sunday afternoon before her SUV plunged off a highway and six stories down into a ravine on the grounds of the Bronx Zoo, killing three generations of a family, including three children, police said... Police said Maria Gonzalez of the Bronx was driving south at 68 mph when she bumped a concrete barrier separating the north- and southbound lanes. With one tire damaged, her Honda Pilot skittered across three lanes of traffic, hit a 2-foot-high concrete curb and went airborne, clearing a 4-foot-tall guardrail.
The speed limit was 50

According to Wikipedia, there are 15 road deaths per 100,000 vehicles in USA per year, 141 in the Dominican Republic, 8 in Australia and 446 in China.
So the driver was a resident of the Bronx. (The article above does not say) That means she was not Dominican? Gonzalez has become a very common surname in these here United States as well. Look it up. Indeed the article does not say if she was a resident of the Bronx nor does it say she wasn't. My reference to rosaries was not a joke. It was a reference to a common Dominican superstition and the fact that many Dominicans put their trust in Jesus, or perhaps the Virgin Mary, and not seat-belts. Your reference to resting is peace suggests to me you share similar superstitions.

As far as driving 15 mph over the limit, I never do it, because of my years of driving in Melbourne. Just 3 kph can land you a stiff fine and loss of points, leading to license cancellation. The probability of being caught is very high due to the number of permanent speed/red-light cameras and radars in unmarked police-cars. Blood-alcohol testing is also very common, and Melbourne was the first city in the world to also implement random illicit-drug-testing of drivers. The wearing of seat-belts and the prohibition of mobile-phone use while driving is also enforced, and random police checks on vehicle road-worthiness are also common.
Draconian? Maybe, but these measures have dramatically reduced fatalities and injuries, and also make driving more pleasurable, not having to deal with so many ratbag drivers.

I have been to many funerals and wakes in the Dominican Republic, so I know what they are about. They are almost as common as "Baby Shower" parties (when some underage pregnant girl is expecting a cute little bundle-of-joy from Jesus).
It seems to me that had the love, adoration, respect and concern shown for the deceased at these funerals been shown to the unfortunate individual when they were still alive, they may have lived longer and not died from diabetes, heart-attack, alcohol-poisoning, road-trauma or suicide.

and that is : Reading comprehension.
ARF,ARF,ARF (that means lol in seal).
"Whereas the sophisticated people ( I'm just guessing) back in Australia probably set up some sort of comedy roast right at the funeral parlor, where the "mourners" proceed to rip the deceased a new asshole (no pun) by telling jokes about how the deceased smells better now than when "it" was alive and about how everybody new that he or she was a "stiff" and....well...you get the idea."
Well it's obvious he's never been to Australia or read anything about it, or human nature in general. His imagination or guess also suggests he has some serious psychological condition.
"On the other hand,We,the "lesser" people of the Dominican Republic believe that people who engage in that sort of act are just assholes or pieces of human excrement, plain and simple."
His words, no one elses, and certainly not mine, despite his feeble attempt to attribute them to me.
My condolences to you and your wife. Thank you for providing the details of where the "Dominicans (here who) hurt, mourn, cry and sympathize." can actually do something useful by sending money, rather than pouring abuse on me for asking a simple question.
Trinitario809, Perez, cibaeño75, xwill7 and Pepe32,
how much money have you sent. Can I guess?
How much?

You forgot to add "Roystone".
"how much money have you sent. Can I guess?"
Will it make any difference if I tell you?
Besides, you think that anything related to hard work, honesty, and in this case, solidarity is SOOO UN-DOMINICAN,REMEMBER???
"They are almost as common as "Baby Shower" parties (when some underage pregnant girl is expecting a cute little bundle-of-joy from Jesus)."
Nice touch...........ASSHOLE!
Nincompoop : "Brownish organic compound used by azeen to brush his teeth 3 times a day.
This substance is composed of 1% nincom and 99% poop"
