Nassau.– Bahamian authorities seized US$1,000 worth of dangerous drugs and arrested four illegal immigrants, including three Dominicans, at an apartment in the Lucaya area, in Freeport.

According to Tribune242.com, Assistant Superintendent Loretta Mackey said police and immigration officers were conducting a check around noon on May 16 when they made the discovery.

Two men and a woman (ages 28, 37 and 43) from the Dominican Republic, and a 55-year-old Jamaican national were arrested and taken into custody by immigration officials.

Quoted by the online paper, Mackey said officers also discovered one pound of suspected marijuana. Investigations are continuing into the matter.
