Santo Domingo.- Tropical Storm Alberto, the Atlantic hurricane season’s first tropical storm, has formed off the coast of South Carolina on Saturday afternoon, the National Hurricane Center said.

It churns in the Atlantic Ocean around 140 miles (225 km.) east of Charleston, North Carolina.

Miami based Hurricane Center said he storm has 45 mph winds, moving slowly southwest at 3 miles per hour, and expected to turn north by Monday, 10  says before the season’s official start every June 1.
