Santo Domingo.- The choir of voices which asks for the head of Miguel Vargas, president of Dominican Republic’s biggest opposition party grows by the hour, in the aftermath of Sunday’s elections.

Several senior PRD leaders also demand a change of course after suffering its fifth consecutive defeat, spurring some to calling Vargas’s attitude of distancing from the heat of presidential candidate Hipolito Mejia’s campaign “treason.”

Some lawmakers of the PRD party have even called Vargas a cancer which the political organization must extirpate if it plans to compete in future elections.

Ex PRD senator and vice president Jesus Vasquez said treason is never forgiven regardless of who commits it. “Treason isn’t accepted in the divine order of God and we the human beings who believe in God have as a norm that you can commit any action in the life of a citizen, regardless of what it might be, except treason.”

I am not a PRD follower, but I understood that Vargas Maldonado behave like a gentleman all the time.Vargas didnt do anything wrong..

Mejia was insulting him, and making fun of him all the time..He was picking up a conflict with vargas..
In fact vargas behave really properly...

PRD lost not because of Vargas , but because of the stupid things that Hipo did and say..and his conceited and arrogant attitude..

And they deserve it!

The PRD allowed Miguel Vargas to impose a Dictatorship in the PRD and now they are paying the consequences of The Purple Dictatorship that Leonel Fernandez, Miguel Vargas and Danilo Medina have imposed on the country.

So much struggle and sacrifice of blood and lifes to return to 1931.

The PRD must honor the memory of our heroes and heroines by REMOVING Miguel Vargas on May 30th as the first blow to the Goat Leonel Fernandez.

As part of the new transparency of the PLD, OHHHHHHHdung is praising Vargas. He and his ilk want to make sure that the PRD nominates a sure loser like Vargas for the next election, so they praise his work. (Thsi is the old, the enemy of my enemy is my friend thinking)

Sure would like to hear OHhhhhh's campaign rhetoric if Vargas ever again runs for any office. Trust me he will not speak so flatteringly.

PuntaCanaMike,
Confession is not enough. You must pay the church indulgences. "Indulgentia plenaria perpetua quotidiana toties quoties pro vivis et defunctis."

With a bit of luck the PRD will self-destruct and their ground be taken up by a new opposition party, without the corrupt baggage.

Guillermo Moreno: "Danilo Medina elected with precarious legitimacy"

"That precarious legitimacy that comes from an abusive use of state resources in the electoral process and the intervention of the current President of the Republic in favor of the government's candidate"

May 24, 2012

Acento.com

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic. - The Country Alliance presidential candidate, Guillermo Moreno, said that after the passage of an electoral process, "there is a formally elected president but has a very precarious legitimacy."

Moreno pointed to Hipólito Mejia's speech saying it did not fulfill the expectations of the PRD base for "the least that was expected was legal action that would lead to prove the violations of law committed against the PRD. So it was surprising that was suggested was a call to pass a law governing political parties in a Congress dominated by the same party that carried out the violation of policies in the electoral process. Guillermo Moreno: "Danilo Medina elected with precarious legitimacy"

Non-sense. The PLD won close to 52% of the vote with many parties participating. The LAW OF THE LAND does not state that the current President has to abstain from helping his Parties nominee during campaigning. Nor does the LAW OF THE LAND prohibit a sitting President from "cutting ribbons" during this period for Project completion.

What the PRD and their NOT-so-secret admire Josey want to do is promote a DE-Legitimacy Campaign against Medina. Hopefully the Dominican people will see through this ploy and render their half-baked idea of a strategy null and void.

"Moreno pointed to Hipólito Mejia's speech "the least that was expected was legal action that would lead to prove the violations of law committed against the PRD."

They have none. If cedulas buying and other shenanigans happened both are guilty; I'm sure Guido's SUV was carrying baked cookies for dinner. LOL
