Santo Domingo.- A discreet cybernetics war cast a shadow on the hours previous and during Sunday’s elections, prompting the Electoral Central Board, JCE, to erect its technological shield and avert manipulation of its data transmission.
During an inspection of all scanners to be sent to the polling centers and the municipal boards a JCE official uncovered one which had been tampered with, a “sabotage” of a key piece of equipment which could’ve put into question the transparency of the entire data transmission process.
A source quoted by listin.com.do said just 10 days before the polls Informatics Center technicians Luis Leger and Alfredo Soler informed JCE president Roberto Rosario of the sabotage, and although it wasn’t immediately determined who was behind it, the ensuing investigation established that the last time the scanner was used was during a test in the Informatics Management Center.
The source said Rosario instructed Leger and Soler to not discuss the incident, since it was believed that the Informatics Management Center’s officials weren’t aware of the infiltration.
The source added that among the tactics used by the JCE was to leave things as they were until Thursday May 17, three days to the elections, as not to raise suspicions.
One of the specialists who worked closely in the installation of the scanners, quoted by listin.com.do, affirmed that the malicious reprogramming of one or several of them sought the collapse of the data transmission, since the system’s failure to recognize the text on the voting table affidavits would mean that a blank document would arrive at the Informatics Center.

In past days, through friends, Twitter and one or another press release, I've heard that the Central Electoral Board is receiving bags of shit.
You cannot imagine the joy it has given me to know that the JCE has enabled this to occur and I am pleased by so wise and eloquent measure. I wonder, however, if the time period for delivery is over already, or if hopefully I am still in time to go to carry my own bag of excrement.
I have not able to locate the call for delivery in any newspaper, and even though I keep them at least for a week. In my neighborhood (in fact, in all evirones, neighborhoods and nearby developments) we are thrilled, but as we do not know the bases and procedures governing probably delivery of popular stool that that the organization you preside has for accepting deliveries, I have been elected to write you and ask for guidance.

By what we could ascertain, the first delivery was in a bag or bags. We do not know the size or the deposited amount. Many people I have approached asking if he can be in box, box or drawer. Some housewives want to know if they accept Tupperware containers. If it definitely has to be in bag, the doubt persists if it can be in the plastic supermarket, or paper. I imagine it should be paper, to make it more biodegradable.
2. Should the evacuation be one’s own?
In other words, can you use caca provided or purchased? Many also want to know if they can carry cat, cow, Cebu ox dung, horse manure, goat pellets or simple and the ubiquitous droppings of stray street dog. Some unscrupulous individuals have already set up neighborhoods retail pupú stands to and I would not like that they cheated the people selling them a commodity the JCE will not accept as valid and good.

3. Is by appointment or is in order of arrival?
This is, perhaps, the greatest concern of the people. We anticipate longs lines if in order of arrival, which would cause logistical difficulties, not to mention the unbearable stench that would invade the streets. By appointment would be better, since that way citizens could arrive, deposit his or her pupú bag, fill out paperwork, if any, and leave. In this manner, the odor would be circumscribed to the enclosure of the JCE, as it should be.
4. Is it compulsory to show the cedula/identity card?
Some of my fellow citizens still not have had theirs returned and did not want to miss the opportunity.

5. Delivery is in the lobby, in your Office or in the elevator?
We do not have clear what physical space is to be used as a depository for the stool. We knew that the VIP elevator has been used, but we want to make sure. I guess that you will have hostesses in the vicinity to attend to the population as the make their deposits.
I reiterate my most sincere congratulations and I am waiting for these awaited indications.
