Santo Domingo.- Calls for Miguel Vargas to resign as president of Dominican Republic’s main opposition PRD party spread across the country, where some of its leaders call his ouster “imminent.”

PRD Farming Front president Leonardo Faña said the resignation is urgently needed to allow another companion with true dedication to lead the organization and warned that if Vargas doesn’t resign voluntarily the PRD leadership should immediately advance the National Convention now set for 2013.

Speaking with the press at PRD headquarters, Faña said with Varga’s support the government was able to get a President elect who’ll only make a difficult situation worse.

In the interior

PRD leaders in the community Cevicos, in central Sanchez Ramirez province also demand Vargas’ resignation, for which local representative Flavio Rondón asked that the party immediately starts the process to expel him and his closest collaborators.

“The leadership in Cevicos unanimously requests the purge of the evil within the PRD once and for all,” Rondón said.

The persona that says that they did not needed Miguelito to win was Hipolito Mejia himself and now they are blaming miguel. How about the article published today on Diario Libre that stays that Hipolito conspired against his own campaign when he signed a deal Vitor Rua Dia to receive funds and PLD support for their own primary. Josean Hipolito and his narrow minder followers were the ones that actually lost the election and not Miguel, because if we analize the whole deal the ones who needed the other more was Hipolito and he says some very bad things about Miguel when Miguel gave that party the No.1 post on the ballet and also brough it to 47% from 33% in 2004. So Josean there are a lot things that are going to come on to light and I think that most of the fingers will be pointing to Hipolito secret deal with the PLD, or don't you remember that he agreed to meet with Danilo whenever and wherever just hours after the election, just set the date and time

The only person with a more vivid imagination for Purple Fantasies than you is Atabey, who just lost his Botella in New York for going to Eastern Europe in the middle of campaign and failing to get the vote out for the Purple Narcos!

By the next presidential election Hipolito may be meeting with Balaguer. What the PRD needs is both Hipolito and Miguel to resign. The PRD needs to elect new leaderships with more open vision into the politics of the future while at the same time preparing itself for the next presidential election with some new faces. The PLD did with Leonerito, he was just a new face in the horizon and somewhere along the line he became corrupted but whose to provee it. Maybe the PRD can learn some few lessons and prepared a more responsible candidate will not adhere to corruption and the thirst for power. Miguel should had campaign for Hipolito regarless of their differences, as president of the PRD it was his duties and then later to debate within the party. He was not entirely the cause for losing, the PLD had to win if not all hell in dominican politics will had taken over. The most corrupted political party in DR history can now erased all major accusations of corruption.

I'm a dominican but I don't vote and will never vote cause I believe politians are all corrupted. They have no choice, especially those that choose to be president. Different interest groups will dare them to do one thing or another or to support one interest over another. The poor are never included or the not so poor. Politician only used them as "MOB" to pushed their own agendas and to count vote since they are the majority. The minority lives off the majority. Theres is even a lesser minority that is holding the wealth of the dominican majority. Now more than ever dominican politicians are resembling Kings, Queens, Nobles with an Aristocracy that is only giving bones for the majority to leak after they had their banquets. The Dominican Republic has been one of the rishes countries in the world and one with the highest costs of living. This is what elections are about --- controlling that wealth.

Actually if you DON'T VOTE then you are helping BIG TIME the party on Power to WIN, why? here is all about percentages NOT VOTES quantity, the less people that votes, the less votes they need to win or achieve the % required...PLD (which happens to be on Power) surely thanks your gesture of helping them to WIN
