Santo Domingo.- More that half of Dominican Today readers would like president elect Danilo Medina to discard the current senior government officials when the ruling PLD party Administration retains office for the next four years, and tap “fresh” faces to fill those posts.
When asked “What should Medina do for the country?” the response “Clean house with fresh faces” drew 486 votes, or 52.03%, followed by “Continue with Fernandez's legacy,” with 171 votes, or 18.31%.
The response “He should lay low and not make waves had 162 votes, or 17.34%, while “Don't care, I wanted the other guy” drew the least, 115 Votes, or 12.31% of the readers who took part in the unscientific weekly poll.

He said that about 140 billion pesos will have to destined to the external debt, so the Government will have to redesign the public expenditure.

Danilo should take a big broom to the palace, and sweep 24/7 for a great PR stunt. But will he do it?
He owes allegiance to some dinosaurs like Euclides Sanchez, who is rumored to be the next minister of public works (fó), and Reynaldo Pared, is ringing for chief of staff, and his brother Sigfrido Pared, back to the ministry of the armed Forces (good choice, but unlikely). He is also removing Celso Marranzini the head of the CDEEE with a new broom, who might not be such a good idea. Felucho Jimenez who was fired by Leonel for being so corrupt (can you believe such a thing) will probably be back in the saddle, but hopefully not in tourism, where he racked up. Antonio (bulto) Isa will go to Industry and commerce (not a good choice).
All and all, austerity is in the cards, and we all have our hopes high, that he will reduce government, and get rid of the botellas.
