Santo Domingo.- The pollster Insight said Tuesday its survey found that if the elections were today ruling PLD party candidate Danilo Medina would win with 52.4 percent of the votes to PRD opponent Hipólito Mejia’s 44.3%.
Insight director Jose Luis Rojas said the survey also found that 73.5 or every 100 Dominicans believe the elections will be in first polling.
He said the face to face survey conducted from April 29 to May 3 which polled 1,200 eligible voters nationwide has a margin of error of 2.9 percent.

The government threatened Claro-Codetel, in writing, not to install Internet service to the modern data center that the campaign of Hipolito Mejia showed to the media yesterday.

An odd thing to add to this is that for the past 10 days or so I have not been able to access DT as normal. Eery attempt to connect met with the "unable to connect to this site" message. Today is the first day I have been able to connect as normal. My internet connection is via Claro and I had been wondering if some sort of block had been placed on acces to the site within the DR. It was clear that people outside were able to connect ok because comments were being made and I still got the daily email.
Makes you wonder??

I remember that Hipo cut education budget to 1 % to give it to the military.
