"Human Rights says that the cancellation of police are due to political retaliation"
"SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic.-Although they support the suspension of police officers, Human Rights complained that many of the agents were cancelled for political retaliation, not alleged irregularities in their offical functions."

jojosnogood,
I can never understand why members of the police or the military have no right to vote in the Dominican Republic. If someone is prepared to risk their life for their country, I think they should have a say in who governs it.
