SANTO DOMINGO. – State-owned power utility (CDEEE) CEO Celso Marranzini said the people who question his performance want his job, which is up to the President elect keep him on or not .

He said the attacks don’t concern him because he has ways to respond and added,"even civil society organizations praised my tenure’s transparency."

Marranzini’s statement comes in the heels of a hearing convened by Senate Energy Commission chairman Tommy Galan, to study the supplementary budget submitted by Escetuvie, on which the beleaguered official will be asked to state why a US$500 million bond should be issued to subsidize the utility.

Marranzini, whose past statements contributed to the firing of his predecessor Radhames Segura, also vowed to reveal “how the money had been stolen in the CDEEE.”

If any of those other blood sucking thieves takes over from Celso you may as well leave the country.

Electricity will be twice as much once a barrel of oil goes over $100.

They just want to pilfer it like Segura did. Nepotism and free electricity for all his friends.

Celso should be considered a hero. He is honest, hard working, and getting results. Slowly perhaps, but a lot faster than anyone has ever done before. Just compare his achievements with those of his predecessor rsugura, the crook who had 80 family members collecting millions for nothing.

It would be better to reduce consumption!

DR has more th\an enough belching polluting power stations - some should be closed by presidential order. Children,s health wouild improve Shops and malls over consuming should have a 20 hour working week. Fridges should be collected and scrapped - a few efficient ice factories could be established to supply cool boxes keeping beer and other goods cold.

Electric power should have a price increase to encourage economy with a rebate for the poorest.

Celso is committed to improving the electrical system in the country, rather that chasing water under the bridge.

He doesn't have the time to do both, but he sure has the capacity to do so if pushed.

Our friend Tommy is walking on thin ice, if you ask me.

I'd be willing to bet he's already be advised to dedicate himself to other problems.

a scheduled permanent shut down of power stations is called for together with a planned 60% reduction of energy consumption in each district.

Easily achievable.

What ever happened to Radhames Segura? Was he ever put in jaill ?Did he ever refund the stollen money to the State? What a Bannana Republic. People can steal at will and get away with it. I agree you could never find a replacement for Mr Marranzini. Some one is after his job that i
agree on .
