Santo Domingo.- U.S. and local agents Friday night seized 36 bags with more than one ton of cocaine in international waters off the coast of Bani (south) during a joint operation, National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) president Rolando Rosado reported yesterday.

He said the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), U.S. Coast Guard and the DNCD seized 1,000 bricks of cocaine, weighing one kilo each, aboard a boat with three outboard motors, 110 miles south of Bani, from where it was taken to Puerto Rico under an agreement with U.S. authorities.

Citing the DNCD, listin.com.do reports that it’s the second biggest cocaine seizure so far this year in the Dominican Republic, a country often used as a bridge for drug trafficking, destined for Europe and North America.

the DNCD seized 1,236 packets with a half a ton of cocaine on a 40 foot boat during an operation at sea in March, south of the town Juan Dolio, which led to the arrest of the Venezuelans Richard Chirino, Eliezer Hernandez and Cruz Natera Fermin,.

Rosado said the three were part of a network of Colombians which used the remnants of the ring headed by Ramon Rosario Puente "Toño Leña," a Dominican drug dealer extradited to Puerto Rico in December.

Good news we need more like this.If countries would patrol better to protect their own countries from this garbage being brought there even our corrupt government couldnt get their shipments through and would be very upset.

Now if they stop the buyers than they would not need to look for the shipments. Stop the market and the problem goes away.

The DNCD had as much to do with this seizure as they have to do with the space launches from NASA.

The problem is in the US if they stop the buying the problem goes away. They don't want to stop the problem they need an excuse to snoop in all the Latin American countries on the pretense they are looking for drugs. The big drug pushers are the government of the US using the CIA to bring in their shipments and they don't like competition

The DNCD is doing a excellent job seizing 1 ton of coke.. and people still criticize them ..

Nixon said 3 decades ago that the biggest problem in America was their war on drugs.... And I still believe it..Obama haven't even speak about it..


Meanwhile,DNCD with their limited resources are doing their part..Good job fellows..

Drugs are used to controll the masses. Alcohol, cigarettes, illegal drugs all are tools governments use to keep you from focusing on the real issues affecting your life. When people stop using these distractions they will say why is the government stealing my money saying its for taxes? People will ask why do they live in poor conditions? Where are the jobs?

These are questions the government does not want you to ask or topics they do not want you to think about.

The drug war can end tomorrow if you remove the customer. Now who will stand up and support that?
