Update last paragraph

Santo Domingo. - Three mid level leaders of the opposition PRD party were injured Friday afternoon amid a hail of gunfire between members of the faction headed by ex president Hipólito Mejía and the organization’s president Miguel Vargas, near the Electoral Tribunal, which was holding the first hearing into the conflict unleashed from the loss in the May 20 election.

Mejia’s supporters say the security guards of the deputies Victor Gomez Casanova and Rafael -Figuito- Vasquez started the shooting, while reports point to the ex president’s backers who hurled stones at vehicles of Vargas’s followers, who responded with gunfire.

The injured were identified as Jean Carlos Ferrera, Manuel Guzman and Vinicio Garcia, and the police arrested several rank and file.

UPDATE

Electoral court suspends faction’s planned meeting

The Superior Electoral Tribunal, TSE, ruled to suspend the meeting planned for Sunday of the PRD’s National Executive Committee (CEN), until the court hears and decides on the merits of the restraining order requested by Vargas’ faction.

Mob rule according to the PRD.
The DR was saved by the bell, from falling into the hands of these delinquents.

Gunfire is becoming classic during important PRD events.
How many times has this happened in the past?

The new authoritarism is the biggest obstacle that PRD have.

The want to implement order, not to be under any negotiation. It's like being with the same anchor decades ago.
These losers can not simply admit their defeat. They are rule by a conflict of politic powers inside their own non-democratic party. And in those messy circunstances they want to rule a country.

Thanks God these dinosaurs are not ruling the country

The PLD thugs are no better.

Does anyone really believe it would have been any different had the PLD lost?

@JuanB

PLD doesnt have THOSE horrible conflicts inside their organization. Never did , never will.In fact, it's the most organized political party in D.R.

PRD have a lot of different factions and groups..: Just a not democratic group of people trying to imposs the power over the other..That has seen losing their institutional participation over time..

So, answering your question.. Hell yeah!

I see this as a reflection of an even bigger problem, namely the tendency among Dominicans back on the island to disdain from compromising. It's a societal problem, not just a PRD one.

Peña Gomez tried to palliate the hunger of the PRD officials, that wanted to mount unto the cushy government jobs, devising the 2 plus 2. That meant that the elected officers will serve for two years instead of four, resign and make way for another PRD member. This failed as well because of the historical hunger, infighting and rapacity amongst PRD members.
The PRD is showing their true colors, what a terrible example for nationals and foreigners, that are watching this embarrassing display of intolerance.

What foreigners and nationals are witnessing is the first rebellion against the PURPLE DICTATORSHIP and its Trojan Allies.

The Legitimate PRD is fighting to prevent the Party from falling into the hands of Carpetbaggers like Victor Casanova with the support of Lieonel’s Kangaroo Courts!

The PLD alone only got 33% of the vote; therefore they are far from being the major political force in the country. When and if Danilo dares to show some testicular fortitude against Lie-onel’s Narco-Cronies and their anti-Dominican policies, today’ events will look insignificant in terms of severity!

All this mess we observe here is the norm for either party that loses a election in the D.R., when Hipoilto was elected, the same incidents occurred with the losing party. I am not the least bit surprised by none of this. This is Domnican politics at its norm. B4E!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANY MORE EXCUSES TO DEFEND THESE CRIMINALS?

I love to read the nonsense of Jose Hiede Vivo..It shows everybody how a perturbed mind can be when they are using drugs..

Probably he would be using the new "cloud nine" , that for instances I saw it for the first time today openly selling them at my local groceries store. Yes, it still legal, and yes the same one use by the cannibal in Florida.

Jose Hiede vivo still calling for a narco-purple-metro -dictadorship or whatever his delusional mind is figure out because he couldnt understand his politics are over and that makes him a big LOSER.

The fact that we see an antidemocratic party with big internal fights , and each group trying to have the control with street force make them a pitiful remark of how disorganized they are and how lucky we are that we have a perspective of a better future with PLD.

They are trying to resolve their internal difference throught the use of gunfire like streets thugs.. and they are the ones that were planing to be in power..

I hope you are right Dont-be-silent. I have relative who know Danilo personally and they say he is a good and honest man. I hope and pray to the Lord that you are on the money and that he behaves as he has up until now so that all these awful people shut up and go away.
