Santo Domingo.- The Justice Ministry’s Anti-Corruption Dept. (DPCA) on Tuesday charged ex dams and canal agency (Indrhi) director Hector Rodriguez Pimentel and six other former officials with embezzling US$94.8 million, including funds linked to the construction of the hydroelectric at Monte Grande (south).
In the indictment filed before National District Instruction Courts Coordinator Judge Rosalba Garib also figure Priam Mendez Cuesta, Manuel de la Cruz Martinez, Jose Antonio Perez, Fior D'Aliza Ares Salazar, Victor Hugo Batista and Teodoro Ruiz Linares.
DPCA director Hotoniel Bonilla motioned the court to receive the evidence and schedule a hearing to arraign the group on charges of corruption, embezzlement, bribery, conspiracy and aggravated fraud.
The DPCA, whose prosecutors on Monday requested more time to gather evidence, has completed at least 26 investigations into "relevant" criminal activities since 2005, according to the official.
Bonilla has described Rodriguez Pimentel as a “pathologically corrupt” official, who was designated as the result of a political alliance with the minority opposition PRSC party during the 2008 presidential election.

so he was like the chicken farmers who did not support Danilo ,,I could understand some vendetta if the PLD had not won , but they won so why should they ge worried about any paybacks ..does not make sense ..

Santo Domingo of Guzmán. The lawyer of Hector Rodriguez Pimentel, former director of the National Institute for Water Resources (Indrhi), Carlos Salcedo, described as 'antics' the actions of the proprietor of the National Directorate of administrative corruption persecution (DPCA).
Salcedo denounced the accusation that the DPCA presented against Rodriguez Pimentel were submitted over three years ago and, Hotoniel Bonilla, Director of the DPCA has not even investigated, "so now he wants the case to declared complex to extend it".

How can he bring down a government ?? especially when a government office has charged him ..That is senseless , but in many a country , a matter like this will take years to be properly assembled and heard and judged ..even now the prosecution has been working for 7 years to assemble the facts

This is all an arrangement and very well plan, at some point this person if convicted will be pardon by the newly elected President. He still will be a millionaire. These is the one who has been chosen to take the heat and the fall before Danilito takes office cause his people will used a different method to pocket the states money. Danilito is going to eliminate many of his friends and pointed officials from living in poverty commencing with himself but of course his already a millionaire. He became a millionaire by being a politician the fast road in DR to becoming rich, so this person that they are portraying as corrupted in such a way is only loose pennies in comparison to those other millionaires with accumulated wealth in both euro and dollars. They want to give the public and the world something, a gesture that " hey were cleaning our house ", "what more do you want, our Queen, Margarita -- NO WAY ".
