Santo Domingo.- President elect Danilo Medina will have a salary cap of RD$400,000 (around US$10,000)  per month, a figure no other Administration official can exceed, including expenses, and other perks.

The announcement was posed Friday morning on the Senate Website, while Congress debates the bill on the Public Administration Salary Regulation.

He Chamber of Deputies however, attributes the information to lawmakers close to the president elect.

"As this ordinary Legislature concludes on the 26th of this month, several lawmakers said the Executive (Branch) will convene a special session of 15 more days for the approval of this and other initiatives that would lose force otherwise," says the Senate document.

Brother I have invested, in real property, a trucking business and a farm, as well as, some other single and joint ventures. During the last 8 years some of those investments went belly up and the others are barely treading water. From providing jobs to 10 fulltime and probably another 10 situational and seasonal employees, between the trucking business and the farm, now I am barely able to make payroll for four, usually with a monthly net loss.

I could no longer afford my best and most loyal employee and out loyalty to him for the loyalty he had shown to me I was able to get him work in Chile via contacts I have in Peru.

These last 8 years have been disastrous for small business people, especially those that are not well connected, which is the vast majority.

So brother been there, done that and continue to That!

Tried that can't get titles therefore, can't get loans for working capital!

When we finally built had to sell under market value because of title issue, barely came out with our shirts. I was very minor investor but I can still feel the financial whip on my. The smaller you are , at least in my case the more it hurts.

Since, 2003 trying to get title to a farm, to get loan to expand production via greenhouse and mechanization, no title, no loan.

The classical Dominican Catch 22!

Conchale, no titulos.... Even before we started construction I invested on a good "agrimensor" to ensure we have our 38 titles before finishing the plaza.

I see that happening most times, the project delays getting titles to use that money for the construction, y dejan los titulos para despues de vendido.

Mucho mess that way, can't leave that for last....

Don't worry too much, we all will be ok, or dead!

I agree with your comment, expect for the part about raising money for his return.

He already did that, 2004 to 2008, via the USELESS METRO, the rest 2008 until 2016 is PURPLE icing on the cake!

See, that's where you all wrong...

The METRO is a great start for the solution to the transportation headache in Santo Domingo. We started with one, and in less than 5 years, line 2 is ready and will expand to SDE.

Reminder, the current NYC Subway network started with less than the Santo Domingo Metro!

Can't have it all at once.... you will chock!

“SANTO DOMINGO.-President Leonel Fernandez said Friday that the country has the challenge of improving the quality of education in order to be at the height of the educational system in any developed country.”

My response to your comment:

It’s called holding our “elected” leaders Feet to the Fire, NOT WORSHIPING THEM.

It is what people do in democracies, but apparently since you are not living in one you might not know how things normally should work.

Danilo is a product of the PLD he was, developed and nurtured in the Belly of That Nacro Beast. He not just some ANGEL that fell out the Sky innocent of all that has and is happening in the Most Corrupt Political Organization that has “Dictated” in DR in modern history.

Danilo has been a witness, participant and beneficiary to ALL that has happened in 12 of the last 16 years when his Corporate Party has RAIDED the Dominican Treasury and DOWNSIZED our constitutional rights. He said nothing and only complained when he was personal affected by Lie-onel's use of the Resources of the state to defeat him the primary. The same resources that now were used to BUY him the election. He is like just like ALL politicians, a practitioner of situational MORALITY!

So Danilo is GUILTY until he proves himself innocent!

One way that Santo Danilo can begin his REDEMPTION is by;

The first second after being sworn in he must address the Dominican people and say he is ordering and investigation in the finances of ALL elected and appointed official’s since Juan Bosch was over hrown; to include the heirs and descents if the primary alleged thief is deceased.

This investigation would be assigned to an Internationally respected group of forensic accountants.
He would also immediately revoke Trujillo’s 1954 Concordat with the Catholic Church.

Then he might get him some slack for the first 100 days of his BOUGHT, with Dominican Taxpayers Presidency as he claims Lie-onel BOUGHT the nomination in 2008

Note:

I have used religious rhetoric because Danilo claims to be a born again Christian and this is language and phrasing he may be more comfortable with!

The only way to clean government is for the students at UASD in the capital and Santiago to attack all the government institutions. Freedom is paid for in blood. Hang all the politicians in the streets from the palm trees. Take the property from their families. Put their wives and children in Haitian camps. Make them suffer. Bomb the runways at all airports so the elite cannot escape.

Burn the national palace and bomb the metro tunnels. When this is done only then can you begin with a new government and freedom for all.

As Alpha 66’s favorite philosopher, Ayn Rand, said:

“You can ignore reality, but you cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring reality”

“Osiris de Leon: Danilo will receive bankrupt Government”

“The leader of the reformist party PRSC Osiris de Leon said this Sunday that the President-elect, Danilo Medina, will receive a totally bankrupt Government with deficits of more than 100 billion pesos.

He said that the main challenge for Medina is to make a transparent Government, with clean hands, like a glass box, with new faces in his Cabinet to bring positive energy and generate confidence among the population.

He said he will have to face the severe economic crisis that affects the Dominican Republic and corruption, where he will have to bring to justice to those who commit acts of corruption.

continued:

.

Leon spoke on "Aeromundo" a program hosted by journalist Guillermo Gomez, which airs on Color Vision, he said "Danilo needs to audit all and each one of the institutions of the State, work by work, contract by contract, making a a serious review with international Auditors, not of the Government".

Note: Sounds like josean!

"He requested that Danilo not appoint people who have been mentioned in acts of corruption in his Cabinet, which, on the contrary, must be brought to justice.

He said President Leonel Fernandez rather than promoting the industry and protecting the national productive sector, what he has done is beat up the Dominican population.

He expressed that the Fernández Government has favored imports of goods, where officials have linked themselves to this sector to the detriment of domestic production, where competition has been unfair."

People want real human developmen;, it appears the Smoke and Mirrors of elevated roadways, tunnels and USELESS METROS have fooled some but not ALL!!

“Build a new model that produces increased prosperity”

“Radically change the culture of urgency, which is your right not the imposition of the present one with its load of incompetence resulting in an absurd and conspicuous consumption”

"Dominican democracy since its inception has been characterized by a very low level of participation and empowerment of the citizen who contributes to a low level of social self-esteem which makes it difficult or makes it almost impossible, for a collective mobilization to meet the extraordinary challenges that must be faced with efficiency."

Update

The best paying jobs in the Dominican Republic are in the Dominican government. Salaries and benefits in government are the highest, but now a bill in Congress could set a cap to what an executive can make in government.

Institutions such as Central Bank, Reservas Bank, Chamber of Accounts, Agriculture Bank, Superintendence of Banks, Department of Taxes, Department of Customs, Armed Forces and the Police have requested being excluded from the wage limits. Several government institutions argue that legally they are autonomous in setting their wages, and that the high wages make it possible for them to attract the best people.
