I am not sure of anything, but I sure hope that Danilo will try to get ALL Dominicans on his side, and be a radical change from the usual MO of the PLD fat cats.
He will have ONE chance to make the public understand that he is not the same as his predecessor, and that is the week after he is sworn in. He needs to make clear that the party is over, and the ones that stole monies and participated in acts of graft and corruption, no matter what party they belong to, will be prosecuted, including LF. He needs also to clean house and retire, all the previous PLD ministers as if they belonged to another party.
Otherwise he will be a stooge and a proxy for LF to continue his pursuit of another term in 2016.

General, he has a golden opportunity to make a radical statement, and establish his legacy. it is low hanging fruit. with such a horrible predecessor, it should be really easy to improve on things, and give the country some relief.

It is low hanging fruit depending on the testicular fortitude of Danilo to make a statement. If he makes the same mistake that Juán Bosch made in 1963, when he hesitated to get rid of the Trujillo military, that later deposed him, that blink cost Bosch his presidency, as the Trujillo gorillas realized that Bosch was weak, and could be pushed out without much trouble.
Danilo needs to make a statement and show that there is no more business as usual, and that the old ways are finito and a thing of the past. This is the only way that the expectations of the populace will support his mandate, and the many necessary and unpopular economic measures that he will need to put in place.

Doanilto, Danilito. this is what everyone is chanting, how many countries did Leonelito left for you to visit. Is Leonelito passing on his taylor to you and included in the national budget. People forget fast and just after winning the fraudulent election Danilito made a statement that said " during my campaign I made no promises, but I do have some compromises ". Don't expect Danilito to be any better than his teacher but do expect him to out-do him in hiding his intentions. Political compromises means that he must insured his supporters a government post and others an expanded business deals with his government. He will not be a president for the middle class and least of all for the poor. He made no promises to the poor nor to the middle or upper middle class. So, his compromises are with whom?
