The freaky "raid" by agents to bust a colleague loose despite court order.

POLICE OFFICIAL EXPLAINS ACTION

San Francisco, Dominican Republic.- Police general Miguel de la Cruz Reyna on Friday revealed that the agents who sprung their colleague out of the courthouse jail cell on Thursday did so to protect his life.

Although he didn’t justify the agents’ actions, De la Cruz affirmed that they acted on a “reliable” tip that their colleague Marino Alonzo Torres was about to be lynched by an armed group of “at least 10 people.”

The National Police also announced that De la Cruz has been suspended as the region's commander pending an investigation.

FILE.- Citizens were startled and indignant when National Police agents stormed a cell in the local courthouse to release by force a colleague jailed for his role in the June 3 shooting death of the youngster Emmanuel Diaz.

Duarte province prosecutor Regi Reyes said Thursday’s unprecedented development was an assault by police who took out by force Torres, blamed for Diaz’s death in an alleged shootout with agents.

He said despite that the detainee was in custody of the Office of the Prosecutor, senior officers headed the action he called unforgivable.

Local journalists demand penalties and claim that the police officers exerted police brutality during the action, in which agents assigned to the Northeast Region Command brought Torres out, violating the judge’s ruling of the three months in jail during the investigation.

The police beat several cameramen TV Telenord and photographers from other media covering the as-yet-unexplained incidents, which Police chief Jose A. Polanco vowed to “thoroughly” investigate.

oh, now , the reason for this jail break was because of an alleged lynching by a mob of 10, like in the old western days of John Wayne.

What do you expect……………… in a Failed Narco State were Politicians come into government with holes in their shoes and leave in Bentleys?

What do you expect……………… where a Member of the PLD Mafioso Political Committee doesn’t pay a $RD 3, 000,000 million pesos light bill and when the company comes to turn the service off he threatens the utility workers with his armed goons?

What do you expect……………..in a country where the President violates the constitution for 8 consecutive years and steals the money for EDUCATION to build a Nationally USELESS METRO?

It is not as farfetched as some may think!

Remember it was revealed in the US diplomatic Cables that WIKILEAKS released regarding Lie-onel’s conversations with the US ambassador; that he said he was afraid to remove Corrupt Generals for fear of being overthrown!

It has become abundantly clear that these so-called security forces are not the allies of the common people in their quest for a more sane society..on the contrary, they are antagonistic towards that goal. The whole of the armed forces, EVERYTHING, needs to be scrapped and the Dominican people need to start from scratch. It's time to dismantle Trujillo's armed forces once and for all.

And now a word from a diffrent type of protest:

The People are Mad as Hell and they Appear to not want to take it any MORE!

“Scores of Electrical meters Disconnected”

PUERTO PLATA - The Mayor and a Catholic deacon of the municipality Mamey Los Hidalgos along with dozens of inhabitants in the area, removed all electric meters from their homes Thursday night in protest of the deficiency in the service of power.

The municipal executive Felix Sarita and deacon Eddy Arias claimed to be tired of the batches of blackouts.

With other protesters, they decided to definitely disconnect themselves from EDENORTE and handed over their meters at the company’s office that operates in that municipality.

In addition to the power outages, Mamey Los Hidalgos residents complain about the high tariffs applied.

"We are tired of the lack of electricity and high bills, so we decided to definitely disconnect from EDENORTE", claimed the protesters -

This alarming display of mob rule and disregarding the rule of law, is more worrisome as it paints a picture of mutiny to the civilian authorities.
In most cases prisoners are taken out of jail by fellow felons to evade justice, not by police who is supposed to uphold the rule of law.
This event could very well spark confrontations with the military, and even breed a state of non conformity and military disobedience that could even lead to a coup d' etat.
In any event maybe, this is what is needed to straighten out the state of lawlessness and chaos in the DR.

If the problem was fearing for the loss of life of the colleage because a mob of 10 were ready to lynch the detainee, how about, rather then bust him out by force, use the same force as additional security to prevent a lynching?

That would have been more justifiable.

Lock up and fire the savages!

If you count the officers in the photo there is more than 10 of them. They are armed! If they can not arrest ten civilians that are unarmed and put them in jail. As would happen in any other part of the world. There is more to this than just saving an already arrested officer. If fearing poison bring him food that they know is not. What would be the out come in the U.S. Jail time! Here they are just relieved of duty so they can go to Boca Chica and drink beer. This is mob mentality does this general have even a high school education? They should do as the chivo did and cut off the buttons of their uniform and drum them out of service in public. I'm sure these officers will get promoted and given medals for their service to their uniform.
