Dominicans don't need another disappointment. D. Medina, L. Fernandez. File.
Zoom Picture

Santo Domingo.- Officials who’ve been identified as corrupt will not form part of President-elect Danilo Medina’s administration, and the new cabinet which will accompany him starting August 16 must be tuned like an orchestra, where those who aren’t in tune will be fired.

The statement is by Medina spokesman Roberto Rodriguez, who yesterday said the incoming chief executive is being accosted by people who demand government posts, from many of the ruling PLD party leaders and allies.

He warned officials named by the president-elect to not conduct mass layoffs against government workers, because they are people of the same party, whose work in his view helped win the May 20 election. "You shouldn’t cut party colleagues loose after you win."

He said the new Administration will implement new policies and changes in staff, stressing that only those capable and experienced individuals should fill the posts and not those who only wish is to get a good paycheck without knowing their duties.

He said the transition has been hard work for the president elect and his team, coordinating and organizing to fulfill the people’s expectations of Medina.

Rodriguez, interviewed by Laureano Guerrero on the official TV CERTEV, said Medina and his team spend time and effort to determine which government policies meet citizens’ demands and not on who’s going to be designated to which post.

All you have to do is check everyone's assets and bank accounts to know that they are all corrupt! It is that easy and you can start with your VP Margarita and see all the lovely assets she has been buying while first lady.

We can only give the new incoming administration the benefit of the doubt.
"By their deeds they will be known".
All the comments forecasting gloom and doom, are unwarranted, and they are like old ladies gossip.
I for one believe that our future is bright, having ducked the Hipoloco bullet again, that would have meant four more years of ineptitude, public embarrassment, and much worse endemic corruption.

Oh what a pile of crap.

Transparent corruption gives Dominicans their machismo, that they wear as a badge of honor.

They can't give it up, they won't feel manly.

Sir, you are the pile of crap that infest this website with your crappy daily comments.
I have yet to hear you say anything good about the DR, so why do you care what happens here anyway?
Your repetitious, boring and predictable commentaries say a lot about you and your MO, you are probably a decrepit, old, bitter and washed out person, who missed his chance while in the DR, to rise to his level of incompetence.

I am sick and tired of all the negative innuendos that are posted daily about my fatherland, and us Dominicans in general, with never anything good to say.

I think that some of the corruption is relatively easy to fix but the petty corruption will take longer ,,probably not until the police and others are paid a reasonabe wage

For someone who is to take the highest office of a country and to say that anyone who has been pointed out as corrupted will not take part in his government ... there is no benefit of the doubt to be given to this newly elected president. So, no one accused or pointed out as being corrupted will be brought to face justice or investigated. He, Danilito will not question his own party members instead he will replaced them with those that work in his campaign and they will be the newly created " RICH ".

Generoso you are absolutely right..
There is too much negativity here about the Dominican Republic and the Dominican people.
There are a lot of good decent people living here in the Dominican Republic.
There are bad, lying, corrupt, thieving Weasels, masquerading as humans, in every country.
Including los Estados Unidos.

Give President Elect Medina’s administration an opportunity to get in office.
We will see how well they do and what they do for the country.

Remember you heard it here first from josean, Danilo’s Campaign Slogan for 2016 when the Lie-onelistas and the Noveau-Rich Danilistas battle it out for the nomination:

“If Lie-onel had THREE Why Can’t Danilo Have TWO!”

¿Si Leonel Fue Tres Porque Danilo No Puede Ir Dos?

This is not PRD vulture party...
Medina and his team spend time and effort to determine which government policies meet citizens’ demands..
This is not pepe Goico, alvarez renta, jose cuervo, mazourka, johmy Norales, Hipoloco part, etc, etc,..

Danilo is having a good start... That's why we will ALWAYS choose PLD !

" Officials who've been identified as corrupt will not form part of President-elect Danilo Medina’s administration."

The fact that Medina's announcing his position in standing up to the old guard, seemingly without fear of consequences, says a lot about his character and courage!

Who knows in what direction our nation will be heading in his administration, but so far there are encouraging signs that he may be the anti-thesis of Leonel's, and past governments.
It's possible we may have found us an honest man, among many thieves!
We'll see.

The LITMUS TEST for Medina will be what he does regarding the very serious allegations against Felix Bautista.

Particularly him having accumulated and extraordinary amount of WEALTH if a very short period of time, which he himself has said is so large he doesn’t know the exact amount.

Bautista’s involvement with José Figueroa Agosto under the orders of Lie–onel Fernandez, as testified by Mary Pelaez in open court, and his alleged involvement in very serious acts of corrupt both nationally and international, Haiti, Panama and Peru!

This where the Rubber will Meet the road for his Administration in honoring his BIG PROMISE to the Dominican People of “DOING WHAT HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE!”

@ joseano

I dont remember that Hipo try to fix Johny morales, , pedro franco badia, , Alavarez renta, feliz calvo, Jose Malkum from central bank, the people from Plan renove, el embajador chino, Vladimir garcia and his parner Capt . Quirino, Gomez massara,Martin Abreu espinal, Andres carraman,, pepe Goico,Vivian Lubrano, Mazourka etc, etc, etc..

Did he try to fix those "serious allegations" ? Most of them already served time, but some of them are on the run..
For example, Plan renove was a scam of $1.8 BILLIONS
Dont you think that Hipo should say something about it first?
Even Hipo, in his tax declaration form , he mention that he raise his personal fortune in just those 4 years in 46 MILLIONS..

Do you think Danilo should finish prosecuting these scumbags and crooks?

Danilo should investigate and prosecute EVERBODY; HIPPO , Lie-onel, and ANY other person with suspicious wealth PERIOD!

Since he promised “DOING WHAT HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE!"

Do you have a problem with that Ms. Vickey?

bieke4,

I understand the frustration in your comment, but with all due respect, the country doesn’t suck nor do the vast majority of the people; it’s the Minority Kleptocray that is currently running it, in a dictatorial manner that SUCKS.

So keep the faith my friend!

Felix in singular, or plural????The "Felixes" are a very peculiar DNA strain in the PLD official, functional illiterate politicians. These herds of thieves need to be audited upon relinquishing of power in Aug. Let's compared their bank accounts before and after.
