Santo Domingo.- Civic watchdog group Participación Ciudadana (Citizen Participation) has appointed Rosalía Sosa Pérez as its new executive director.
Sosa Pérez replaces Javier Cabreja, who recently resigned his post. Prior to her appointment, PC held a public recruitment process in which ten candidates took part, and a specially designated commission selected a shortlist that was presented to the National Council.
Sosa Pérez joined PC as a member in 2007 and has belonged to the national and coordinating councils, and the justice and institutional strengthening committees.
Her duties will include planning, coordinating and supervising PC’s operational and administrative activities, as well as serving as liaison between the organization’s management bodies, and implementing decrees emitted by the general assembly, the national council and the coordinating committee.
Sosa Pérez is a lawyer and economist, with a Masters degree in National Economic Planning, specializing in Penal Rights and a Doctorate in Law.
