Santo Domingo.- The director of the Department for the Persecution of Administrative Corruption (DPCA), Hotoniel Bonilla, says that his department has provisionally shelved its casefile containing corruption accusations against senator Félix Bautista.

Bonilla established, by means of act no 1150-12, that the decision would be communicated to former presidential candidate for the PRD, Hipólito Mejía and the other parties that took part in the process so that they may not claim ignorance or lack of knowledge.

The DPCA decree 03093 was emitted on 13th August and released to the public yesterday.

In March, the former PRD candidate’s campaign team accused Bautista of alleged acts of corruption related to the execution of reconstruction projects in Haiti.

He was exonerated by Leonel before he left... How sad it is that he is going to get away with stealing so much, even when there was substantial evidence that linked Bautista to several crimes, the justice system just ignored the facts. The only thing that saved him is the fact that he is living in DR and is friends with the president himself.

Business as usual in the Dominican Banana Republic where corruption is done with such a level of impunity by the untouchable regional political Mafias. Nothing has changed in 200 years and is the reason why foreign investment is only for those that are equally corrupt or play the game well enough to function in a corrupt State.
