By means of decree 456-12, president Danilo Medina confirmed Major General José Armando Polanco Gómez as chief of the National Police and General Victor Campusano as his deputy.
The officials were immediately sworn in at a ceremony in the Ambassadors’ Hall in the National Palace.

63% of the “new cabinet” was with Leonel
SANTO DOMINGO - 63 per cent of the members of the Cabinet sworn in Thursday by President Danilo Medina Were part of the administration of former President Leonel Fernandez Reyna.
Included in the Decree 454-12 27, are only 10 appointments that are new to the public administration.
The new faces correspond to Gustavo Montalvo, appointed Minister of the Presidency; José in Carmen Saviñón, industry and trade; Gonzalo Castillo, public works; Maritza Hernandez, of work; Luis Ramón Rodríguez, agriculture; Freddy Hidalgo, public health; Jose Antonio Rodriguez, of culture; Jorge Minaya, youth; José Ramón Peralta, Minister of the Presidency's administrative and Antonio Isa Conde, Minister without portfolio.
