Santo Domingo.- Citizens Against
Corruption and the Dominican Anti-Corruption Alliance (ADOCCO), two of the four
organizations that had submitted complaints against senator Félix Bautista for
alleged corrupt activities, plan to file an appeal against the decision to shelve the casefile
by the National Directorate for the Prevention of Administrative Corruption
(DPCA).

Against Corruption and Julio César De la Rosa Tiburcio, coordinator general of
ADOCCO, are querying the decision by DPCA director Hotoniel Bonilla, saying that it showed his intention to clear the leading PLD member’s name just one day
before the handover of power. They say the 89-page casefile was so detailed
that it would not have been possible for the DPCA to have conducted the rigorous investigations on
which they based their decision to shelve the file, on the grounds of
insufficient indications of penal infractions.
Citizens Against Corruption will
make an appeal to the Supreme Court of Justice and if necessary they
will take the case to international organizations. The opposition PRD, which also made a formal accusation against Bautista, has yet to announce its reaction to the DPCA decision.

Now remember that all saying, everybody is innocent until proven guilty and right now you are getting ahead of yourselves. I do agreed that he should be investigate it, but I cannot formally accuse him of any wrong doing until proven guilty.

Bautista is probably the most corrupt politician in DR history. How does a guy go from working at a bodega in Manhattan to a 400 million pesos net worth in less than 20 years? Kick him out!

Maybe Bautista was Leo's employer when Leo was reciding in NYC as a youth at 90th st, as a delivery boy. Who knows, maybe he put Leo thru Law school and taught him how to be a crook. I agree with you in such a short time you don't accumulate such a vast wealth, of 20 million pesos per year,net plus all the perks.not in a country as poor as ours.

Hey Josean, I am in favor of putting in jail the people that did wrong, but what don't like is your hatre against Leonel when he has been one of the only president that has actually build, schools, cross country mordern roads and put us in the open eye to the rest of world and not just the USA, Latin America and Europe. I don't where you reside now but if you come to the capital you can see the changes that he has done with all those new overpasses and tunels.
