Santo Domingo.- The National Police announced 27 designations and confirmations in its various commands nationwide, police chief Jose Polanco announced Wednesday

He said there’ll be no general without functions in the Police, but admitted not knowing if there’s any of its current 52 of those senior officers who doesn’t have an assigned function.

Polanco said other designations have yet to be transacted, adding that the changes are routine to further bolster public safety.

Bullshit. They do NOT know how to work or what they do.

Get rid of them.

The headline makes one have to ask the question; they exist to work/serve, so why does Chief Jose Polanco have to come out and say they have to work ?

Get rid of the excess and unnecessary baggage.

Wait!!!!! Did he just say, that he himself is clueless to what his own functions are in the department by saying that he doesn't know if the 52 generals that have to report to him have actual assigned functions?

Another worthless public servant that is the head-honcho of public safety....

This focker only has to supervise 52, whats so hard about that.... He should be thrown out with the trash, kicked-2-da-curb, dropped like a bad habit for not doing the simple task of managing 52 supervisors in charge of overseeing police units in multiple areas.....

Lets take this a step further.... The real problem is/was his ex-boss Leonel Fernandez for not doing his job the right-way....The republic didn't have a president, she had a Contract Manager.

@ BERNIE13:

"...a man of God...."? Really? If you want the RD to succeed, then all decisons must preclude religeous precept and influence. A government must rule in the interest of ALL it's citizenry regardless of flag or stripe.

Surely there is a predominant religious background and population in each and every country. But when it comes down to making decisions about the benefit and well being of a country, then the LAST thing that should go through a legislators minds is, " What would my Lord do?".

You know..... "Church and State" and all that sort of thing.

If you do go to the RD, I wish you luck and happiness. They are a great, fun, smart, and proud people, (who just happen to know how to throw an amazing Bachata).

Generals do work. They run the drug trade with the Colombian cartels. They also sell the rights to: cut mahogany, take sand from the beaches, and control prostitution. They extort money from people, kill people, and conduct all kinds of other illegal activities. They work real hard destroying people's lives, sick thugs.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS COMMENT THE WRONG WAY. I BEG OF YOU. BUT I REALLY NEED TO KNOW SOMETHING AND ONLY ONE OF YOU, A READER, CAN ANSWER IT TRUTHFULLY.

What is in the Dominican Republic to justify the need for that many generals? I visited the D.R. back in 2000 and could not figure for the life of me who would want to invade that country with all the problems that have been created by those already in-charge at that time.

I doubt even Fidel Castro would invade the D.R. because when you invade and conquer a country, it's problems are now YOURS. So tell me, my fellow readers, what is the need for all the generals.

Again, I am NOT insulting the hard working, everyday Dominican but I really would like to know.
