Santo Domingo.- The Education Ministry suspended classes starting noon Thursday  on the threat posed by Tropical Storm is Isaac, expected to buffet Dominican territory as a category 1 hurricane Friday.

 Other first responders including Civil Defense repeated Education’s suspension moments ago via Twitter and other networks.

Isaac’s current 65 kph winds are expected to reach hurricane strength prior to impacting Dominican Republic tomorrow morning.

Odd....my daughter's school is open tomorrow....unless notified later today. There is next to no reason for closing ALL schools, as the effects of this tropical storm will only seriously effect the southwest.
