Santo Domingo.- Police spokesman Diego Pesqueira on Monday said Police retired colonel Ramon Henriquez (Moncho) died in the hospital where he was taken after being shot Saturday.
The official said Henriquez died of "cardiogenic shock," or heart failure, while receiving medical attention.

Henríquez remains in the National Police Hospital’s ICU, while his driver was slightly injured and released.
The former officer underwent surgery in his right arm and is expected to recover, said National Police captain Luis E. Calderón.
Quoting sources, newspaper Listin Diario said Henríquez was traveling with four others during the shooting, but details on the two other people have yet to be provided.
The shooters were reportedly riding on a motorcycle and the police announced the start of an investigation.
Henriquez was a notorious figure in Balaguer’s repressive regime (1966-1972), especially in the persecution of those identified as enemies of the government.
