Santo Domingo.- Constitutional Court presiding justice Milton Ray Guevara Tuesday night complained that judiciary officials earn paltry wages the same as other important government sectors.

Guevara, who spoke during the inaugural ceremony for the offices of the Constitutional Court, headed by president Leonel Fernandez, requested a reform to correct what he called “undesirable distortions” in government salaries.

All big shot salaries should be lowered not raised. This salary law is another "in your face" offense to the tax paying public and the thousands of underpaid teachers, doctors, firemen, policemen, that are struggling every day, with measly salaries.
These "cara duras" want to keep sucking the governmental tit, until it is dry, and make it impossible for Danilo to go forward, with all of the inherited debt in the thousands of millions, that can not be paid.

The problem is, leaving the chief justice to one side ,,,is that to attract the best lawyers out of lucrative private practices onto the bench , the salaries have to be more than paltry but why does not this judge come up with a sliding scale so negotiations can be made ...I have to say that lawyers seem always to be after more money ..so I have little sympathy for them
