BANI, Dominican Repubilc.- The country’s most outspoken senator on Thursday called the Antinarcotics Agency a “latrine” in which most of its members work on everything but the war on narcotics trafficking, and "charge tolls at different drug points."

Wilton Guerrero also accused the National Police of having assigned agents with a "criminal history" in that region, and that both the authorities and community leaders want them “taken out” of their city.

The lawmaker’s statement comes in the heels of spiraling violent crimes plaguing that city of southern Peravia province, but expects, as do his contituents, that general Juan Brown does a good job as the recently designated Regional Police Comnander.

In that regared, Brown announced investigations into several recent crimes, and interrogations of some people in connection with them.

The lawmaker and senior officer spoke with journalists to unveil a plan to protect property and provide security for Peravia province citizens.
