Santo Domingo.- The size of the delegation which will accompany president Danilo Medina on his first trip abroad since taking office will put his campaign slogan “To do what’s never been done” to the test.
"The commission which will accompany the President will be what’s ??strictly necessary due to the austerity plans implemented by the Government," said a source today quoted by elnacional.com.do.
Medina, who’ll participate in the 67th UN General Assembly, has yet to announce the day he’ll leave and the official delegation which will attend the UN activities which start Tuesday.
"It’s not clear neither the day nor the hour that the President will participate in the UN General Assembly," the source in the National Palace said on Medina’s first trip to the US since taking office August 16.

Perhaps if President Medina truly wants to send a message of the seriousness of the Dominican financial crisis and the need for strictly enforcing austerity measures, he should consider not going at all.

Why should the UN have anything to do in this world. None of them have been elected but all seem to want to tell the world what to do. Leave the elected officials to run the countries

you guys should really invest your time in writing for entertainment television. cause all those unnecessary hateful comments took a lot of creativity, but on the other hand, like guillermone said in the beach clean up article, you guys could just be kept around as DT employees to spark up conflict amongst readers, to keep retention in readers. or your not being paid, and could be modern slaves to the site, no offense josean. any-who, if being being vulgar pessimists makes you guys happy, i guess that's a sacrifice us readers of DT are just going to have to make. wish you guys the best. i'm done.

Our Prime Minister has red hair, not a red neck. Australia is also deeply involved in maintaining the security of our region and the world. The Dominican Republic is not, and never has been. The Australian economy is a significant one (#13) the Dominican economy is not (#73).
