Santo Domingo.- Former Banks superintendent Haivanjoe NG Cortiñas on Wednesday justified the pension he himself approved before being removed from the post.

As to deputy Francisco Matos’s revelation that the current General Controller was issued a RD$651,000 monthly pension in the morning of August 17, just hours after the new Administration came to office, the official said he wasn’t aware that any official can pension themselves and said his pension was authorized by the Monetary Board.

Ng said he’s been a public servant for 25 years and the Monetary Board’s decision takes effect in 12 months, for which he hasn’t started to collect his pension.

Clearly annoyed, the official spoke with reporters at the Banks Association headquarters, which lauded his work as Banks Superintendent.

The lawmaker

"It’s not possible to have a superintendent, because he works one, two years as Superintendent, will retire with more than half a million pesos. Now I understand why he was such an unwavering defender of the banking sector. Like that anybody would," Matos said, adding that he’w willing to write a bill to eliminate that kind of privilege.

This pension amount is equivalent to US$200,000 dollars per year, which would be unacceptable even in a developed country, but certainly not in the DR.
The long list of wrong doings, by the corrupt and perverse minister, that also backed the chisel banks offering credit cards at 100% plus interest per year, to modest wage earners such as low ranking members of the armed forces.

He is the result of the planted seed and product of an entitlement culture of government.

He is not there to serve, only to enrich himself.

The self-Pensioned already over paid Double Dipper Spills the Beans on other Double Dippers!

“Haivanjoe NG Cortinas pension puts the Government of Danilo Medina in a tight spot”

“SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic-The current director of the Office of the Comptroller-General and x-Superintendent of Banks, Haivanjoe NG curtains, revealed this morning that like him there are other pensioned state officials that are currently receiving wages.”

“This pension and its defense by this officer puts in trouble the newly-installed administration of President Danilo Medina, who announced and promotes a program of ethics in the Government.”

“The Commitment to Ethics Pledge signed by officials in the National Palace before President Medina, PROHIBITS pensioned public officials form also receiving a State salary.”

“It seems that NG Cortinas is ignoring this decision, which is a dilemma for the National Palace: it either acts against this person or risks that their images on austerity crumple before the public.”

“What say the Secretary of the Presidency, Gustavo Montalvo, and Vinchos Castillo, the General Director of Ethics and Government Integrity in this regard?”

Come one Saint Danilo do what you promised: What’s Has Never Benn Done Before, expose, fire and stop the Stealing from the Dominican Taxpayers by these PURPLE Thieves!

I ask you Danilo what would the man you claim you honor as your mentor, Dr. Juan Bush do, fire them or Sweep it under the PURPLE RUG like Narco-Lieonel has done for 12 years!

No wonder we don't have money for EDUCATION!

Nothing will be done ,mark my word on that. Don't tell me Danilo didn't know about this public official's pension as well as others?Am sure he knew, been part of the gvt himself prior to been
elected. All they have to do is get it from the Nationl Treassury.
I can see it if it was a private Bank and the board gave the person holding such position a raise.
Get after them Danilo and show us you can do something that has not been done before. He might be untouchable and steps down with such a pension, since the previous administration
overlooked it so they can do the same down the line,

Mr. Rancier,

You’re not suggesting that Saint Danilo was living off a pension after he left Lie-onel's Lap to try to become president in 2006?

Now that wouldn't be like opening a can of worms more like a Barrel of PURPLE SNAKES!

PS

Is Vincho, who 150 years old, getting a pension as he also Double Dips with not one but two Goverment job that Saint Danilo has appointed this bum to?

Maybe he gave him those 2 jobs to justify his earnings ?

I wouldn't doubt if he kept his original salary as Senator added to his present one. Anything is possible in that country.
