Inbred entitlement mentality rears its ugly head.

You morons have a captive audience in Barrick Gold. Sell them what they need and do not rip them off.

The existing industies in the Dominican REpublic are not as to the high technology standards as built on Barrick Gold. Therefor there is also a leak of skilled labor which is able to maintain this facilities and Barrick is forced to get foreign labor in. I do agree that for landschapping etc local labor can be used and seen that this is also employed. The ones that protest are the ones that just want to have a FREE piece of the cake. I KNOW BECAUSE I WORKED THERE.

The uninformed continue to make planetary fools of themselves particularly on this subject-First of all it is not just Barrick Gold involved here, which holds only 60% of the concession, the other Canadian criminal mining emporium with 40% interest is Goldcorp which had a suspension of its Marlin mine in Guatemala for human rights violations and environmental disaster. Furthermore, the BG/GC tandem isn't the only neocolonial gold concession, Everton Resources holds the concession in the adjoining perimeters to the Cotui mine. Unigold and others have the other criminal concession of the J. Armando Bermudez national forest, a protected area for the Dominican wild boar. All these are criminal enterprises, just like in Guatemala, Mexico, Argentina, etc., which create lunar landscapes, gobble up limited water resources, and pollute with sulphuric acid from their "environmentally friendly", high-tech autoclaves, supposedly the most advanced mining technology which vomits poison as well.
