Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Telecom Institute (Indotel) on Wednesday temporarily suspended the marketing and advertising of the "4G-LTE" plan offered by the service provider Orange Dominicana.

Indotel Resolution 113-12 issued today states that it received a notice from the also provider Claro, for the regulatory agency "to take the necessary steps to ensure that the provisions of the services advertised (4G) were being done under the current regulations."

Indotel said it decidedd to visit the Orange branch on Romulo Betancourt Av., where it was found that currently (July this year), “there’s no availability of plans or contracts for 4G -LTE internet service. When the user requests said service, the contract provided for the moment, is the one corresponding to 3G Internet service."

The regulator said the suspension is a precautionary measure, involving the removal of all advertising in relation to 4G-LTE service and ordered the sale of “fourth generation” services suspended.

.I stay out in Bonita, in Las Terrenas and I have 7meg Internet 95% of the time, which is 3.5G. My only gripe with Orange is they need to get real when they come to download limits 15Gb is a joke in 2012 and not having the ability to purchase more download capacity is beyond a joke, I know of at least 5 people from Europe who would love to relocate to DR but refuse to do so because of the broadband situation think of the $'s that the country is missing out on because of the inadequate broadband infrastructure
