Santo Domingo.-  After months of mounting pressure to come clean, the Public Health Ministry on Wednesday announced it will publish the results of the study conducted on salamis in the next few days.

Public Health minister Freddy Hidalgo said that type of sausage was subjected to microbiology and biochemical analyses, and then sent to an international lab to confirm results.

The scandal had pitted Public Health, and the Norms and Measurements Agency (Digenor) against the Consumer Protection Agency (Proconsumidor), which called for tests on salami after last year;s complaints that they were tainted with fecal coliform, were low in protein and other threats to health.

Is this the end of the "Salami Gate" lol.
Bet you 10 to one that everything is fine now, after hands have been slapped and checks cashed.

After the announcement we will have a barometer of how up front and transparent the government really is.

Trust the government agency that should have been perfoming random testing instead of trusting the producers? The biohazards are one thing but what about the fact that this salami had beef and pork on its packaging and there was 0% beef and/or pork; only chicken guts and chicken skin (compressed). This agency does not have a clue.

Tell me this...Did you guys always eat this salami cooked or did some of you eat it raw? If raw, then you really should be pissed because it could have killed you; little children and the elderly are/were more at risk.

It's probably even money odds that all the producers of this product are guilty.
And that's what makes this story even better.
Luckily, I have never tasted this "delicacy".
