Santo Domingo.- Senate president Reinaldo Pared on Tuesday said, if asked, he could “mediate” to break the deadlock between Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Roberto Rosario and the executive branch over the election’s court budget allocation and a proposed audit.

"It’s not prudent for these noises to occur when it’s a known fact that the President (Danilo Medina) is a person who doesn’t enter into this kind of thing and is always open to solve any problem," adding that he spoke with Rosario prior to a trip abroad, but pledged to meet with him upon return.

"I would do so a concerned citizen who’s interest is that these things don’t occur, its a matter which should be spoken with president Medina to see if he wants to intercede, because otherwise I would be intruding on another power," Pared said.

Audit

Pared’s statements come in the wake of a dispute between Rosario and the, on the former’s refusal to allow an audit of the JCE by the Office of Purchases and Hires, claiming that only the Accounts Chamber has the mandate to do so.

DR, among the countries with the lowest levels of budgetary transparency

Despite the poor performance, the country improved its score compared to 2010, but citizens still continue without having access to key information on budgetary decisions

The International Budget Partnership initiative is the only independent, comparative and regular measurement of budgetary transparency and accountability around the world, and is prepared every two years by independent experts without obligations with respect to national Governments.

The research establishes that the Dominican Republic does not produce a citizen friendly budget that allows people to easily understand the Government's plans to obtain income and spend public funds to achieve the objectives of the policies.

Another Example of PLD "efficiency!"

The PURPLE Thieving Geniuses of the PLD built a Super Expensive NOT NEEDED Parking Garage, yet over 5 thousand students can’t register because there aren’t enough class rooms!

“They Explain exclusion students UASD”

He said that greater budget is needed to resolve the situation to construct classrooms and hire more teachers according to student population.

The reason probably the students cannot register is that they did not have sufficiently good results in the national exams yet still want to go to this free university ,where they will do the minimum of study ..if they were to make some form of contribution to the cost of their education ,then appliacations would be less . There are guys aout there with marks in the 70 s wanting an university education. That is too low .universtity education is for those who are at least half smart
