Santo Domingo.- Consumer protection agency (Pro Consumidor) director Altagracia Paulino on Monday revealed she has yet to receive the results of the Health Ministry’s study on the more than 100 sausage makers, in the wake of the scandal popularly called “fecal salami,” referring to the types of bacteria detected in several samples.
She said her agency only participated in the first phase of the process, during which sausage samples collected nationwide. "We haven’t been shown the results of these reports at all. I reiterate, we only participated in collecting the samples. "
Paulino, quoted by eldia.com.do, said when she requested the results from the Pan American Health Organization -one of the organizations which took part in the study- she was told that Public Health Ministry official Maria Villa de Pina would provide them.
“That was two months ago,” said Paulino, who broke the scandal on the potentially harmful salami.

in key largo fl their is a restaurant called the big chill. its owner is jimmy johnston the ex coach from the miami dolphins..
the health dept was in there a few months they found some problems in the kitchen... they closed up this place for 3 days until the problems where fixed....
some said way many rules in the states for my self iam glad that we have honest people looking out for us... it could be restaurants, meds, cars...ect!......

This singular incident must be the one that catalyzes the masses to assemble and march in unison against government pervasive corruption and demand immediate redress.
Obviously, this is a situation that primarily affects the less fortunate, with the high-middle and upper classes being totally insulated from any effects of fecal salchicon (Dominican salami), as they would never be caught dead eating such lowly and lower-class food. They sort of see such food groups as being intended only for the Dominican "untouchable" class (borrowed from India).
It is the primary function of gov't to protect the citizens and, on this accountability, they have exercised extreme dereliction of duty and abject ineptness.
If the relevant ministries cannot provide the simple duty of cursory inspection of food sources and relevant reports on their findings, then they cannot justify their existence and, consequently, should be disbanded and relegate such duties to outside entities.

Here's two ideas. 1. Shut down the plants that are implicated, and then - by public discourse - we'll find out whose product is no good, or, 2, Just stop buying all sausage and let the industry erupt into chaos.
