Domingo.- Vice President Margarita Cedeño de
Fernández said last night that she did not go to the San Isidro Airforce Base
airport to welcome President Danilo Medina on his return from Chile due to
confusion about the President’s arrival time.
She said that the President’s office informed her that he
would be arriving in the country at 11:30 at night, when Danilo Medina actually
returned at 10:00 p.m. The president had been attending the European Union and
Community of American States summit meeting in Santiago.
The vice president sent a message via her Twitter account
welcoming President Danilo Medina to the country and apologizing for not being
at the airport “because his office informed me that he was arriving at 11:30
p.m. I am here at the Palace where I will make a formal handover. I was waiting
to leave for the airport. You know that this is my work schedule”.

Surely Danilo can find his way home without the vice president ..It is a stupid idea to be hanging around an airport and maybe it is a good time to put an end to it ..It was a private plane and I am sure danilo is gracious enough not to take offence

What the the public does not understand it that there is a Cold War going on between the Medina and the Fernandez clans. Always remember Saint Danilo was Narco Lie-onel's second *correction* third choice to be president so they really despise each other but even pragmatic political détente doesn't last forever!

I wonder what real powers does the VP have, while acting as president, when Medina is away.

I think Lie-onel suggested her not going to show that Lie-onel is the real leader of PLD.
