Navarrete, Dominican Republic.-  National Police Chief Jose Polanco on Sunday justified the shooting death of Angelo Jeancarlo de Leon (Cacon) and said he’s not concerned by possible charges because he respects human rights.

"Tell me If there’s one country in the world that tolerates criminals and antisocial beings that shoot a cops and are left untouched?," Polanco said in the heels of widespread criticism of what some consider an execution by agents.

The police chief spoke in Santiago province, where he headed a handout of toys, medicines and sporting goods to agents and their children.

He said the report given him was that Cacon was going to be arrested when he confronted the agents, who returned fire.

Polanco said he’s committed to preserve public safety, while respecting human rights.

De Leon was being sought in connection with the murder of a Police Lt. Colonel.

It's about acting civilized!!!!!!!.....You shouldn't have opened that black hole in your face.

I have a buddy doing 25 to life in a federal facility, because you told someone to bring someone to him and that person ended-up dying with 52 puncture wouns and the one that did the killing only got 10ys.

They should film all confrontations to make sure laws were not broken.

How cheesy is that, they stand in front of cheap police dirt bikes. Where are BMW's or Harley's .

How is the drug money confiscated invested or do they just give it back?
