NEW YORK.- The Dominican gang "Los Trinitarios” (The Trinity) of New York, has 1,181 active members, according to the New York City Police (NYPD) report cited by The New York Times.

Considered one of the most violent and dangerous in recent decades, the gang has expanded to other cities in the U.S. Northeast including Philadelphia, Newark and Boston and recruits mostly in schools where its leaders attract under age students of both sexes to the gang’s "initiation" ritual.

The New York Times says NYPD Anti Gang Unit investigators render weekly reports to Police commissioner Raymond Kelly, and names other gangs with many more members than "Los Trinitarios,” which use symbols such as the Dominican flag and seal and others depicting their serious crimes linked to drug trafficking, illegal weapons, kidnapping, extortion, blackmail and rape.

Local and federal agents have arrested and indicted hundreds of its members in recent years, and sentenced to long prison terms in the U.S. correctional facilities.

NYPD experts affirm that "Los Trinitarios" is one of the fastest growing gangs in the states of New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts).

i wish i was the president of the US

so that i could deport anybody suspected of even being in a gang
deport anybody with any criminal chargers

a country as good as the US i would try everything in my power to keep it clean, i cant believe how the US gov lets immigrants go into its country and treats them like royalty even when they commit crimes, if i was in charge of nypd the list of the 1000 plus trinitarios i would give it to homeland security and have all of them deported or sent to jail no trial no nothing.

fear not. be patient. i remember when Jamaica had pride of place with violent criminal offenders in the USA. ever heard of the Shower Posse? they made every other organized crime operation in the USA shiver in their boots. every mafioso was afraid of them. well, where are they today? give the feds time. soon or later, Trinitarios will be expunged from the US landscape. time, boys, time.they will be just another trivia question.

Effective law enforcement will wither the gang as it has done so with many other. Only the good Domincans will be left standing and we must cooperate with the authorities to destroy those Guzanos from our island-society.

On top of their violent garbage gang, profaning with ill irreverence, to the founding fathers of our country.

By naming themselves the Trinitarios.

Get rid of all those pieces of shit, and don't send them here.

Every immigrant group has their own version of an "organized" syndicate. It is sort of like a Monkey see, Monkey do. The best known are the Italians with La Cosa Nostra, but there are Chinese, Irish, Mexicans, Jamaicans, Salvadorens, Polarks, Jews, Cubans, Russians and Haitians gangs. Almost every other nationality has a dark side. Some are more close knit and well organized than others. I recently heard that even the peaceful, God fearing Pennsylvania Dutch have their own Amish Mafia. They deal in the underground market of stolen horse and buggies.

The Haitians in Miami have the "Zoe Pound." It is a criminal street gang founded by Haitian immigrants. For about two decades up until 2010, were or perhaps still known to be involved in drug trafficking, robbery and related violent crimes in support of their drug trafficking activities.

So before anyone is alarmed, don't be surprised, Dominicans were not the first nor will they be the last nationaliy to invent the idea.

Guillermone the fact that other people have dirt bags from their country doesnt make it any more comforting. Unlike all those people you mentioned the dominican in NY is mostly known for being criminals even though its a very small minority. Its not only there, its all over the world! Spain wants to get rid of all dominicans.

@ guillermone

That is very true. We Canadians have our own version as well. We provide "protection" to store owners - and they pay the gang off in Maple Syrup. But then the gang feels guilty and sends it back with an apology.

Zonyk15-I was not looking at what others did to justify the criminal acts of DR immigrants or their offsprings. I was only responding to the comparison others have made as if Dominicans were the worse, the ones who came up with the idea. All I am saying it is nothing new and we are not the first nor will we be the last people to start a crime syndicate.

What I am saying however and looking at the big picture, it would be interesting to determine the reasons why so many immigrant groups have evolved from working class, humble origins into a loose affiliation of gangsters in charge of organized criminal activities. This is no doubt a sociological phenomenon that needs to be looked at further and studied closely. It is good to ask why historically so many immigrant and their children have chosen to lead a life of crime while within those same circles many have succeeded as business people and professionals. Let us not lose sight and forget the other also true immigrant reality.

I agree with you in that part guillermone but immigrants or poor aren't the only ones to follow crime or run in gangs they are just the most exposed ones. The ones with the big money put on suits and ties and start commiting much bigger crimes under the guise of politicians, bankers, investment brokers, etc, etc,....

GUIGUI, I know you have a hard time calling a mamajuana a mamajuana. Both you and Rok should approve deportation of those miscreants. That way both of you will have a perfect excuse to blame any increase in crime in DR on los Haitianos.
I know, you are a good Dominican who must find a way to point out los Haitianos. Did you know the ZOE-POUND came to existence because Haitian students were being beating everyday by blacks in Miami, even the police had refused to lend any protection to los Haitianos when they were getting the shits kicked out of them. I know, you both will find that comment hard to believe!!!
No, you must use los Haitianos to justify the behaviors of those scum bags!! Why should anyone be alarmed, only los haitianos produce criminal elements, Dominicans are good catholics who only visit the voodoo priests for curiosity!!!! get a freaking life, Haitians have the ZOE-POUND. Is that a way for you to validate your criminals recalcitrant elements???

Notice that I want illegal Haitians deported from Quisqueya !!!

Not Dominican gang members in Quisqueya.

Do you need glasses ??

Go and get disposables.

They can get rid of those gang members in the Hudson River or the Long Island Sound.

We have enough undesirables here, with all the Haitians roaming around !!!

i am in full agreement with the above statements by you. These applies to the scums left by Trujillo in form of personal safety for himself, which today they call it useless Military and drugs traffickeers.Added to that the politicians, hiding behind a fake democracy. So let us not put the blame on countries that accept these leaches but the origen of these leaches and their educational status as well as their GENES.
Going back to DR there isn't one institution that could call itself transparent and always expecting
a hand me down from the Central Gvt in form of aids.Always thinking on a way to screw the nation in form of subsidies. I had faith in the Public University's transparency ,to find out it's full of botellas by 70% compared to 30% professors. That when there is a teachers' strike (payments) increased, no teaching is done, they get pay just as much as if they were teaching. Does not happen in a 1st world country where payments stops the day you go on strike !
