Santo Domingo.- A 5.1 magnitude earthquake shook the Northeast, near the coat of Nagua around noon Tuesday, without any injuries or damages reported.

The quake reported  by the U.S. Geodetic Survey occurred at 1:07pm very shallow, and was also felt by thousands of people in Samaná, and much of the area west of the country.

It was much closer to Punta Cana than Nagua or Samana...although nothing was felt here.

All significant Earthquakes are under 10Km depth.

Although 5.1 at this distance is hard to feel in any of the areas that are on the list.

So, this Earthquake was in the Atlantic Ocean, not on the LAND.
It happened in area called Maimon Basin, in the area where are the deepest points in Atlantic Ocean.
