Santo Domingo.– The Dominican government announced that among its purposes is to build water and sanitation systems in communities neighboring the border with Haiti.
According to Government sources, the initiative will require an investment of US$160 million and the potable water and aqueducts agency (INAPA) will call for international competitive bidding in April.
Alberto Holguin, director of that agency, said the participating companies would provide their own financing. "We intend that the entire border, from Montecristi to Pedernales, have drinking water and a safe sewer system so there is no pollution."

Yes, a good idea and hopefully the funding sources are secured via Europe or the US/Canada and the rest.
Now that the UN has said: NO. 160 million dollar projects are very manageable.
Hopefully many more are in the pipe-line.
Getting decent quality water to the people will go a long way in helping stem the problems of cholera as well as other waterborne diseases.

I am in total agreement with you; I thought as a deed to humanity I would bring that bottom feeder at least to sidewalk level to see if a ray of sunshine would provide a chin of civilized inspiration to his sewer infected cerebral. All that bring to mind is a bit memory of my first platoon seargent whom picked me up at the airport for my first tour of duty after I was commisioned. A sidewalk walker approached our vehicle at an intersection and the batlle tested old seargent replied to her that he had stepped over better pile of mierda looking for a place to piss.
