Santo Domingo.- National District prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso on Wednesday said the embezzlement charges filed by Guillermo Moreno against former president Leonel Fernandez will the dealt with the same way as those cases received daily.
Although the official didn’t provide details she confirmed media reports that Fernandez had been served court papers on Moreno’s complaint.
In a statement, Reynoso said she was working various cases and couldn’t talk to reporters.
Complaint
Moreno, president of the minority party Al-País, filed the complaint on January 24 against Fernandez and his think tank, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (Funglode), for alleged breach of trust, money laundering and perjury.
Moreno said Fernandez used Funglode to raise money and other activities he says violate thel law and the Constitution.
He said the former president used a group of companies whose sole function was to supply sums of money that went to the Foundation, from which he could access them without government oversight.

I also agree why do you come to this conclusion. I have friends who know him personally and have nothing but good and positive things to say about him. However, the same was said about Leonel before he came to office. I guess the bottom line is this and Shakespeare's Macbeth, said it best, it does not matter who get to office and sits on the top, "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely."
Most of us thought Leonel would be a good, honest, and responsible president, but within a year of taking office, he was just as bad as all the rest before him. Once again ohhhvictor shows his ignorance! In the UK, for example, anyone can retire at age 55 and receive whatever pension they are entitled to, assuming it is a private i.e. a work related pension. That equally applies to those holding government employed positions. The state pension is currently paid to women from 60 and men from 65.
There are many other countries with similar rules and even younger age limits.

The evidence is not validated by the court. If it ever gets there the defence lawyers will test the strength of the evidence by various methods including cross examination and presenting of conflicting evidence , ...In thhe final wind up the judges will make a judgement .
