Update 2, DNCD said Army captain Bolivar Alberto Mercado Diaz and Jose Brazoban headed the ring

Santo Domingo.- 35 members of the Airport Security Corps (CESA), the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD), and National Investigations Dept., were arrested in the last few days for their alleged links to a shipment of 670 kilos of cocaine at the Punta Cana International Airport

DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron said the details will be disclosed to the country shortly and affirmed that "everyone involved in this international drug trafficking case will receive the drastic punishment it merits."

At least 30 people are reportedly under arrest in the case being investigated by the Prosecutor's Office, Armed Forces, CESA and the DNCD, the official said, noting that the case is of such magnitude that further details can’t be provided, because any misinformation could hinder the investigation.

The DNCD spokesman made the announcement by phone to radio station Z-101FM.

Whatever happened to all the useless generals and high ranking military personnel that were supposed to be retired? I read the story about how it was going to happen but I never read the story that it did happen.

Just cheap conversation I guess.

Juanb, I was just wondering that myself... I guess it's like his anti-crime plan which was delayed a few times.

The general's thing is supposed to happen this week, by Friday.........? Danilo will be traveling, of course....good move. With CESA, it's more house cleaning by Danilo. With him, and the new women PG in SDQ and the one in POP, things are actually getting done. I wish them all well....and hope Danilo survives. So far, I'm impressed.
Say what you will. They are kicking some big ass......adelante!
