Six die in separate collisions at same site(Update)

Santo Domingo.- Two more people died early Monday nearly on the exact site of Sunday’s tragic collision which claimed the lives of four people.

The victims, residents of the barrio Quilombo de los Botaos, were run over by a Jeep Grand Cherokee, without tags, whose driver is in custody. More information as available.

FILE.- Four people died Monday morning when two motorcycles were hit by a car 28 kilometers east of the capital on the Las Americas highway, with two taken to the Ney Arias Lora Hospital with severe injuries.

The fatal victims Jeison Cedeño, 19; Juan Carlos Pie, 24, and the brothers Jose Rodolfo Perez, 22 and Silvia Sonaca, 23, who was reportedly pregnant were headed from the village La Caleta to the town Andres, Boca Chica (east) when they were hit by a Honda Accord.

Local media report that Oscar Leonel Núñez, 22 and Yeuri Perez, are in stable condition despite severe trauma. Another victim Rita Gomez, was treated on the scene and dispatched.

Metropolitan Transit Autorithy (Amet) spokesman Diego Pesqueira said the car’s driver, identified only as Melvin, abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.
